Sounds like a problem with your micro SD memory card. Is it bigger than 2GB ? And have you tested the memory card elsewhere ?

Well sort of, when I use the Micro SD via the adapter in my computer it asks to format; I'm scared of losing the Data on the Micro SD, is that the only option?

Whatever you do, DO NOT FORMAT or else you will lose your data. What you should do straight away is to copy the data on to your PC/Laptop so that you have a record. Do you have another SD memory card to test with ?

Sounds like you have the wrong firmware on the R4 card. I had a similar problem when I swapped cards with my granddaughter. I had the "R4 Revolution....etc" card and she had a "R4 Upgrade Revolution....etc". They look the same but un beknown to me they need different firmware!!

For the R4 you should using kernel R4 DS v1.18

For the R4 Upgrade this should be R4-III v3.13
http://www.r4iii.com/down/r4313/English_Version3.13.rar

Ive copied the files across and copied games across but when running the R4 in the DS it sticks on loading screen.

There might be a couple of things wrong. It might be that you have a knock off R4 card. If the card is genuine then you may want to go to the R4 website and download the latest firmware for it. Copy the files to the TF card. Make sure you make folders for you content. Label one movies... games... music... etc.. The other problem that you might have is the SD micro card may not be compatible with the R4. I know with my card it is compatible only up to 2gb.. so if you have a card that is more than that it will stick on the loading screen when you power up your DS... hope this helps

Hey there Colin,

The original R4 card only works with Micro-SD cards up to 2GB in size. To use Micro-SD cards up to 32GB, you need to buy the newer R4 SDHC card or a Nintendo DSi comaptible card. Check out R4 Cards / R4 DS Cards from DSCardWorld.com or NDS-Gear.com (NDS-Gear is probably better if you live in Europe or Canada as their shipping's slightly better internationally).

The DSi has a firewall. The DSi blocks your card. Not a new SD, but a new R4, mate.

It sounds like you need to figure out exactly what kind of DS card you have. Check out NintendoDSCard.com's DS Card Setup Guide which should sort you out.

Also, I recommend only buying genuine cards since a lot of the fakes tend to break quite easily. Maybe from dscardworld.com or from nds-gear.com if you're in Canada/Europe since their international shipping's a bit cheaper

just delete games and reload those cards do that all the time, make sure you drag the games into the themes folder.open system folder you will find the themes /games folder in there.enjoy

SD/TF card error..

to format the card is pretty simple really, all you have to do is:-

make sure your card is plugged in with the p.c same as you drag and drop
go to my computer
look for where your flash drive is
dont click into it, right click it
a little list will show
go to format
then click start (dont use quick format)
