It sounds like a defective motor. You may be able to hand start to confirm this. You will need another person for this. With cycle selected and door open, hold in door switch lever. Have second person press start button. While button is pressed, give the drum a spin by hand and see if it starts up. If it does you may be able to dry a load or two. The motor will need replacement.

My Kenmore series 80 washing machine will not automatically do the drain, rinse & spin cycle.

Hi,

please rotate your cycle dial in the opposite direction of its usual motion by 90 degrees (probably counter clockwise). Then you can run the cycle again and the drain/spin/rinse should work. Otherwise, please power cycle your washing machine.

Thank you.

Please power cycle the dryer and the turn the dial 90 degrees in the opposite direction of the the usual direction that you'd use to set a cycle. Then try to use the dryer again.

Series 90 with loud buzzing/grinding noise, won't spin

It could have gone out of balance. See if the drum looks off center and center it if necessary. Turn it off and back on to reset the switch. If that doesn't work, try pressing on the lid either 2/3 of the way back on the right or all the way back on the left (depends on the model -- try both) and see if it starts. If it does, I would suspect the lid switch.

Kenmore Series 90 washing machine, won't start cycle

First, see the Sears Parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.26912691&pathTaken=partSearch

Next, see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service manual for top load, direct drive washers:

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

I hate to say it but it sounds like a Timer problem.

I'd use the troubleshooting section of the Service Manual and the timer testing procedures to confirm the problem.

Note that there are two types of timers with different procedures to remove them.

Also see the following for how to release the console for access to the timer and other controls.

Dryer doesnt go on

I opened up the lower panel of my kenmore 90 and then removed the blower cover. I found two hair pins lodged in the blower and removed them. I tested the dryer with it open and the blower and drum began to turn again. I buttoned everything back up, and it is running fine now.

Kenmore gas dryer buzzes but does not run

sounds like the start windings in the motor have gone bad. The only way to fix this is to replace the motor.
