As with any laptop, you must first remove the casing on the lower half. This will reveal all the internals, including your next step. Youll notice the laptops Hinges are held by the casing. You simply unscrew it, remove it, unclamp it, whatever your laptop does to keep the screen attatched, and unplug the screen.

BUT! You must remove the casing. All laptops are designed to hold one thing by putting together 4 others. Its like a puzzle.

Hope this helps!

I have a ASUS U64E that I purchased 2/2012 and repaired in 8/2013.
At six months, the lid hinges started becoming lose and noisy. I removed the
hinge covers to tighten the hinge-to-case screws but they were not loose. It
was difficult to tell what the problem was without further disassembly. I let
the situation alone until recent failure of the one hinge with the opposite
side also near failure.

With the laptop out of the one year warranty, I searched and
watched various Youtube videos on ASUS screen replacement as the screen needs
to be removed to gain access to the lid hinge mount points. The failure is the with
lid hinge mounts to the lid frame.

My repair involved 1) regluing the lower part of the lid
inner frame to the lid, and 2) reducing the friction of the hinges by loosening
the hinge nut about 1/8th of a turn. On my unit, the hinge friction
was too tight putting a lot of stress on the hinge mount. I used Gorilla glue
for the repair.

The following videos are helpful for removing the screen:

I also removed the keyboard and touchpad assembly to inspect
and clean the cooling fan which was very dirty.

The repair is holding and the lid action feels good with the
reduced friction.

Hi, I m havin Medion Akoya md 97860 laptop It shows blank screen and ni response, only led lights turns on and while starts feel like accessing ram and fan run but system can't be able to start.

Does the HDD LED blink? when you reboot do you get anything on the screen at boot? Can you do a system restore/recovery? Reseat the Memory Mods and the HDD. Maybe the HDD is gone or the Memory? The MBR is corrupt? Hard to say without troubleshooting issues.

How do you fix a dm4 Hinge that is broke where it connects to the screen

You can buy hinges on ebay at:

http://www.ebay.com

Just type your computer make and model in the search followed by lcd hinges.

If the hinges are broken where the lcd screen connects to the base of the laptop then you will have to remove the screws from the bottom of the laptop and remove the strip that is at the top of the keyboard to get to them.

If the hinges on the side of the lcd frame is broken then you will have to remove the plastic strip that is around the lcd screen. Remove the plastic or rubber bumpers on the plastic strip then you will see screws to remove to remove the plastic strip. Then you will see hinges and screws on the side of the lcd screen that you can remove. Once you have them removed you can lean the lcd lid forward so that it drops in your hand. Don't let it drop on the keyboard, just into your hand and not too far because there is a cable on the back of the lcd that you don't want to damage. The cable can be taken loose from from the lcd at the back near the top if you like. Sometimes there might be a piece of tape securing it. If the lcd screen does not come out then there are screws on the 4 corners that is securing it and the hinges.

A replacement screen maybe available from this WEB site.
www.lcdparts.net
The screen is removed by undoing the hinge screws, careful unclip the video connector from the motherboard.
Keep the screws together as you remove them so you will know which screws are needed to install when you fi the new LCD screen
Undo the screws that hold the bezel that surround the LCD screen, then remove the bezel (it may be also held in place with double sided tape).
When the bezel is removed the LCD screen is secured to the hinge assembly by more screws around the edge of the LCD screen.
When you install the new LCD screen, reverse the order you took in removing the LCD screen.
These WEB sites may assist you in repairing the LCD etc.

Laptop hinges are loose

The hinges can be loose in two different areas, but the most popular is the hinge attachment point behind the screen bezel. Remove the rubber screw covers from the bezel, remove the screws, take your finger nailas and from the inside of the bezel pull gently to the outside to release the catches on the screen lid. Start on one side and work your way around the screen until the bezel pops loose. Look at the bottom of the screen and you will see the hinge attachment points. Tighten them up. If you have some locktite this would be a good time to apply it, remove the screws one at a time and replace. To replace the bezel, always start at the bottom and work your way up.

THE LID IS LOOSE AND THERE ARE NO SCREWS TO TIGHTEN ON THE HINGES

You do not need to replace the hinges, however your need to remove the font panels of the screen and laptop to remove the hinges. You will see that the pin that connects the top part of the hinge to the bottom part of the hinges has over time moved out of alignment. With pliers and a hammer manipulate the hinge pin so that it is now flush with the hinge itself. You will see that the hinge will then become tight. Then just reinstall the hinge. I just did this and I know it works.

Replace LCD for Presario C502US Laptop.

I can give you some general advice. I haven't worked on your particular model, but I can help guide toward what you want to do. To remove the LCD screen, you have two main goals: 1) disconnect the signal cable and 2) remove the LCD screen at the hinges. Depending on the model, you will need to remove the cover between the keyboard and the hinges, the hinge covers, and perhaps the keyboard too. The ribbon cable that connects to the LCD matrix is under that cover between the keyboard and the hinges. The cover also covers up the screws for the hinges. Get to that LCD and unplug it first; then remove the screws for the hinges. The voltage inverter that jacks the +18 volts up to +600 volts for the screen backlight is usually either under the cover above the keyboard or behind the bezel beneath the screen. Good luck!
