Why won't my fan oscillate?

There is a little arm attached to the motor that makes the fas oscillate. If it gets disconnected you will have that issue. Check the linkage.

Why wont my dyson fan oscillate?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

Your Dyson Air Multiplier AM01 desk fan should oscillate when you press the oscillation button on the base:

Heat does not come out of defroster

An oscillator? :vibration, motion like a pendulum, pulsation, fluctuation, rotation...yeah, I can imagine Nissan calling a door that swings back and forth to direct air, an oscillator. Hope someone is not pulling your leg, though, or we've both been suckered ! Don't know what to tell you, except to find your nearest oscillator outlet supplier. In the meantime, check the controls to the various doors on the heater case. Are they vacuum controlled, cable controls, or electrical motor controlled? Usually all of one type. You may be able to see the offending part, a disconnected hose or cable, or the stem of an inner door that has broken or not moving the door. The oscillator might be hidden deep in the bowels there-be careful. Good luck, norman.

Remington Hedge Wizard - driver/oscillator assembly broken - motor turns blades do not oscuillate

Hello There, blades oscillating are usually controlled by the motor. When the motor is rolling then the fan not oscillating is usually a minor problem. Usually the blades are connected to the motor using a rod which is directly connected to the blades.
If the oscillator assembly is faulty this could need replacement of a part. And this would require expert help. Which part exactly is broken? How well can you handle mechanical assembly parts? i could try to get you an assembly guide to help determine which part is faulty exactly but i need to know the above.
Hoping to hear from you soonest.
Thank you for visiting FixYa.

My ryobi oss450 has stoped oscillating. Is there anything I can do to repair it? It operates just fine except for the oscillating.

You can try taking it apart and cleaning the mechanism that makes it oscillate, but i have found most times when those stop they are just wore out and need replaced. Those sanders are pretty much disposable.

Aloha Breeze Tower Fan Will Not Oscillate

hi,

yes this is the oscillation motor, and they generally arent servicable, and need to be replaced, you can try and oil it, sometimes they have small air vents, and you can do a voltage test with a voltmeter but I believe the motor has failed or is gummed up, you can try and take it apart, they are held together with bent metal compression areas along the circumfrence of the motor, try sewing machine oil, you might have to do some research to find a replacement motor, maybe take it to a local clock shop, those motors are very close to what they used to put in old wall clocks.

good luck
