Hot sync problem with Sony Clie PEG-N710C

I recently upgraded my PC from Windows 98 to Windows XP. I can no
longer hot sync my Sony Clie PEG-N710C. I get the error "Unable to
initiate Hot Sync operation because the serial port is in use by
another application". I didn't change any of the connections and/or
ports.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.
