How do I restore audio drivers. I did a systerm recovery & restore on windows xo 32 bit yesterday, now I do not have sound , it says acccording to these drivermax downloads , I have 8 out of date...

If you have intergrated audio(built into the motherboard) then you have to look up the driver for that motherboard(should be some white letters and numbers somewhere on the center of the motherboard, google them). If you have a sound card then look for the driver for that make and model sound card.

Not working

Go to the computer manufacturers website. Look for -> Support.
It may state Support & Downloads. On the Support page, type your computer model name and model number in the search box. Click on the down arrow to the right of the box, or it may have -> Go.

Choose the Operating System you're using.

On this page look for Drivers & Software Downloads. Click on it. Now click on the drivers you need, and download them. Click on Run, and click on Run again. Ignore the Microsoft 'Squawk Box'.
After you have downloaded and installed all your drivers, restart your computer.

Or, go to the motherboard manufacturers website, and enter the model number of your motherboard in the appropriate box. Click on go, to the right of the box. Click on Drivers downloads.

Now, if you don't have the CD that came with your sound card, go to the soundcard manufacturers website. Enter your soundcard model name and number. Look for the drivers.

Need sound card driver

Hi Rana,

Assuming you're running Windows XP or 2000, you can download the PCI 128 Sound Card Driver Installation programs here: (They are free of charge, of course).

When you launch the program, it detects your operating system information and automatically installs the appropriate drivers.

If you're running something other than Windows XP or 2000, go here: to find additional driver installation packages.

Hope this helps, and enjoy the sound and music!

Gail :-)
