Try pressing F5 or F8 right after you power it up..keep pressing and releasing the key to see if it will enter the windows start up optioons menu...then scroll down to start in safe mode...If this is not possible, you will have to use a start up disk for windows. With that, you can use the check disk /r option to repair your system files.
Also, if F5 and F8 dont work, try f12 for recovery potions....Good luck

This sounds like a BSOD (blue screen of death). This usually means there is a serious issue either with the hardware or with windows itself. Normally a bsod will have text, along with a line in the format:
0x00000000 _ _
If you could provide the part similar to above (where the _ _ is two letters or numbers) it would allow for better understanding of the issue.

Thanks

Blue screen when windows loading screen

There's a number of reasons that you could have that issue. HDD failure, RAM failure, some sort of Windows driver issue.

Try restarting the computer and before the Windows loading screen, start mashing the F8 key. That should bring you to a screen that offers to start you in safe mode. Try starting in safe mode, which only loads the absolutely necessary files for Windows to load, and see if it'll start up there. If it does, attempt to use Windows Recovery Tool.

I get this blue screen when starting my dell latitude E5400 laptop. The system reboot fails regardless of the mode (i.e. Safe Mode).

Remove all USB attached devices like drives.

To eliminate possible bad RAM. Unplug PC, open case, and remove all RAM. Test one DIMM at time, one slot at a time.

Re-install Windows. Clean install works best, but all data will be lost.

Lastly you may have other hardware problems. If it does another blue screen after reloading windows, especially with a clean install.

Automatic restart my laptop.Windows vista

Hi,

If you are able to boot the computer in safe mode, you can disable the Automatic Restart from the Control Panel.

Open Control Panel.

Click on the System and Maintenance link.

If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link.

Click on the System link.

In the task pane on the left, click the Advanced system settings link.

Locate the Start up and Recovery area and click on the Settings button.

In the Start up and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.

Click OK in the Start up and Recovery window.

Click OK in the System Properties window.

You can now close the System window.

From now on, when a problem causes a BSOD or another major error that halts the system, the PC will not automatically reboot. Rebooting manually will be necessary.

If you're unable to fully start Windows Vista due to a Blue Screen of Death error, you won't be able to disable the automatic restart on system failure option as described in the steps above.

Try the steps below:

Just before the Windows Vista splash screen shown above appears, or just before your PC automatically restarts, press the F8 key to enter Advanced Boot Options.

You should now see the Advanced Boot Options screen.

Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, highlight Disable automatic restart on system failure and press the Enter key.

After disabling the automatic restart on system failure option, Windows Vista might continue to load. Whether or not it does depends on what kind of Blue Screen of Death or other problem Windows Vista is experiencing.

Since you disabled the automatic restart on system failure, Windows Vista will no longer force a restart when it encounters a Blue Screen of Death.

Now that you have the STOP Code associated with the Blue Screen of Death, you can troubleshoot the problem:

The following is the list of BSOD error codes with troubleshooting, you can find the troubleshooting steps using the error codes in the MS website also..

Hope this helped you. Please do rate me.

Thanks!!!!

How do i fix my computer with a blue screen that keeps shutting it off?

Blue screen errors, or blue screen of death (BSOD) errors, are the most severe errors Windows can encounter. Since Windows can not recover from this kernel level error, a blue screen is displayed with the error details. The error details contain a STOP error code, which indicates the type of error.
There are a lot of possible causes for blue screen errors, but most of them relate to the computer hardware. The cause of a BSOD error can be a temperature problem, a timing error, a resource conflict, hardware failure, a corrupt registry, a virus or simply a device incompatibility or driver error.
Post your OS please!

When i turn the power on after two minutes it shuts down right away. tried to charge it still the same it will turn on for 2 mins then shut down again. i tried rebooting it press f8 but it gave me another...

you got 2 things here:
1. pc shutting down unexpectedly
2. blue screen

1. the cause could vary:
a. cpu overheating: make sure you are letting the laptop to breath, open/clean vents.
b. motherboard failure: get a new laptop.
c. battery failure: try to take the battery out and connect the laptop and test/replace the battery as needed.

2. blue screen: if it is a Blue Screen of Dead, try to note any error codes and post back or at this stage it could be virus: take the hd out, connect it to an enclusure and hook it up to another good computer and attempt to save the usuful data. then reinstalled hard drive in laptop and reinstall os.
b. hadware failure: replace laptop.

on the password:

the only three possibilities where you may be asked for a password is if you're trying to access a password protected bios (which you rarely do with f8) or if you're accessing the recovery console in which you need to enter your windows user name and password or if you're accessing the computer in safemode in which you can enter any user name and their password or the user name: Administrator and for password it could be either blank or whatever password was set when windows was installed

good luck!

I think the blue screen you are reffering to is the blue screen of death. This happens when a serious failure occurs. Your OS's system files may have got corrupted and that would be the reason for this. Try reinstalling Windows.
If the problem persists, get your Ram memory checked by a technician.
