This problem might be able to be fixed with some Gorilla Glue, or JB Weld, unless you can get a replacement part(s) from KitchenAid.
When parts get worn, you have to improvise to fix them. You might try contacting their support site, and see if they can send you the replacement parts. Here's their site:

Good luck, hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa.

Cover cups are usually held in place by clips and lockers. If the cup keeps on falling of try checking the clips which are supposed to secure the cup in place if any of these clips happen to be broken then it has to be replaced. If it can't be replaced then try to get some glue to hold the clip in place. If this is not possible then i suppose you would have to look for some temporary glue or tape to hold the cup in place.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Can not get second gear in my Hobart mixer

Dear anonymous
When you say you can't get 2nd gear in I assume you took out to replace grease and now you are having issues with putting it all back together. With that in mind let me tell you what you may have done. Looking at the diagram of gears and shafts side by side (found on Internet under a200 manual) you need to find the older model a200 manual. Inside the shifting yoke is a divers key and that has to fit inside the yoke then carefully put back on the shaft while depressing that inner shaft spring I think you have left this out or out of place this keeping it from going back together and your getting 2nd gear on

Hi, I recently bought an old AE200 Hobart mixer from a catering auction...plugged it in & guess what?? does't work. I can hear the motor running, but when I put it in any of the three gears..it...

You will probably want to remove the two silver looking inspection caps. Just carefully pry them up and remove. Then you will be able to get a finger hold on the transmission cover. It has one or two locating or dowel pins that keep it in place. What I normally do is take a soft mallet and tap on the cover while gently lifting one end, then do the same to the other side until you have it loose enough to lift off. I know this because I just spent the last 4 months working on my A200 mixer. I'm not sure exactly what the model AE 200 is, though. I hope this was helpful.

Mixer does not rotate hook

Here is the exploded parts list fr a K45, perhaps it will help you replace the stripped gear inside the gear housing. It is probably the gear which is driven by the motor shaft.:

4162897 Worm Gear

It costs around $10 and can be found on the internet at places like:

Loose gear

Lock out-Tagout the machine. Remove the top cover, hold the beater shaft while removing the center shaft nut. Then remove the 4 bolts and and hardware on top of the first(worm) shaft and the second(clutch)shaft. you can gently tap the top cover up with a cold chisel on the upper parts of the housing. It's just a friction fit , aligned on two dowels. Once the cover is off, scoop out the grease, remove the side panel and selector assembly. Try and lift all of the first gear assembly together. the newer ones have a series of rollers and springs, which can be easily reassembled, if you see which way everything was. As you rmove parts, lay them on a clean surface in a row in the position they came out. The selector sleeve is marked TOP, but looking at the 4 drive teeth each side, you will see how it drives 2nd and 3rd gears. The clutch and worm shafts lift out together from slip fit bearings in the housing base.

When reassembling, coat everything with new grease, and run before loading all the grease. If you need to remove anything , you won't be up to your wrists in grease doing it. Once all is good, load the grease in the top hole nearest the motor with it running. The gears will feed the grease as you load the 35 OZ.
If you removed the planetary to remove the center shaft, don't tighten the half nut tight. back it off a half turn and lock it with the acorn nut. Otherwise you will loose first gear from pinch friction.

Professional 600 - makes loud noise when mixing, often stops as it blends 8 cups of bread flour and "needs a break", flat beater seems to get caught on bottom of bowl - this mixer is 1 yr. old!!

Several things:

The Professional 600 has a metal gear housing with a metal gearing. Because of this, the Professional 600 will generally run louder than other stand mixers that may have a nylon/metal mesh gearing.

How long is the bread dough being mixed for? Kitchenaid stand mixers must be used on speed 2 for bread doughs, using the spiral shaped dough hook, and mixing for no longer than 7 minutes.

If the flat beater is getting caught on the bottom of the bowl, pleasure assure the bowl is being seated correctly. You will place the bowl on the mixer arms on the left and right hand side. You will also want to take your fingers along the back of the bowl, where it butts up against the base of the mixer, and press downward. You will hear an audible click as the bowl falls into a spring latch and allows the bowl to sit flush and secure. If this is not being done, the flat beater may strike the bottom of the bowl.

If this was not the cause of the problem, please consult your Use and Care Guide about the beater to bowl adjustment. This is an easy adjustment made with a flat head screwdriver that can quickly correct the problem of a flat beater hitting the bottom of the bowl.

Planetary ring

ok im going to take a shot at this its been a while since ive been in a school kitchen
with the planetary ring its supposed to be tapped in make a jig by getting a 2x6 board and 2 2x4s they dont have to be long screw the boards together with the 2 2x4 standing 4 inch up across from each other about the size of the blender head
the wood is to support mixer while on its head and to keep from teetering around
put down down a piece of foam
put the mixer on its head upside down
now you have to find an old plastic sturdy made cup the size of the ring its gotta be able to take a beating (the cup)
but not a hard beating this will help in seating the panetary ring
now get another piece of foam
glue to top of cup let dry then trim around the cup evenly out side and on the inside leave a little foam over the inside edge
place ring on planetary drive where it goes put cup over ring make sure the cup matches size of ring
now get a wood rubber or small pin hammer and tap lightly on the cup till the ring sits itself back into position this is the safest way to place the ring
use a little appliance greese on inside ring lightly to help ease into place

now if any part of the ring is bent i dont recommend placing of old ring i would suggest buying a new ring for mixer

Gear cap which attaches to the drive spindle falls off

there should be a lip on the shaft that hold this up. You insert the shaft from the bottom and a pin goes through the gear to hold it in place. Look at the IPB HERE.

Kitchenaid Stand Mixer - gear assembly coming loose

There should be screws to tighten. Or maybe the pin holding the gearhead on is missing, tho that is unlikely.

Mixer leaking oil

I called KitchenAid about this issue with my mixer. The agent on the phone told me they are aware that it tends to happen to some mixers after they sit for some time. Basically, a "lifetime" of grease has been packed into the assembly and it is normal for it to release grease on occasion. I was told to run the mixer at 10 for at least 2 minutes to get it going and I should see a reduction in the oil leak. I had about a tablespoon worth of oil dripping down off the assembly. I was told that if over time it seemed to amount to about 1/4 cup then I should call to see about repairs due to a potentially bad seal. I was also told that the repair for that would most likely NOT cost the same as a new appliance.
