Of course, it depends on certain factors. Here is a good website that explains how much it should cost for different circumstances. It will give you something to go on:

Here is another good site:

This should give you a good range to look out for and expect.
Good luck, hope this helps, and please rate this if it helped you.

Depending on the age of the unit, with the minimal cost of newer ovens these days, you're better off checking with your local municipality for proper disposal directions and buying a new one.

Never have used a garbage disposal, now after 4 month and using it only about 30 times the water in the sink will not drain. When I turn on the garbage disposal the water in the sink swirls so I know it is...

hello fowl..... you have a blockage in the garbage disposal. you can use a chemical drain cleaner and pour it into the sink where the disposal is located. you should also look into that drain with a flashlight to make sure that there is not a fork or some other object causing the blockage. If you do not choose to use the chemical, you can also disconnect the disposal using the wrench that should be under the sink where the disposal is located. if you choose this method, have a pail handy to catch the water. also unplug the disposal before you work on it. Yesterday, my sharp carousel r-1460 went dead. I took apart the front keypad and replaced the 20amp fuse behind it. the microwave light and fan work. But, when I start microwave to cook something, pop! fuse...

If the 20A fuse is blowing, it is often the high voltage transformer or magnetron. If this is the case, and the microwave is not under warranty, replace it. Residential microwaves are generally considered disposable. Parts and labor are just too expensive. A magntron or transformer can cost more that half the cost of a new microwave.

Microwave not working although oven & grill ok

Sorry about my last reply I just saw your model.

I have found that some older microwaves (the cheaper ones like under $250 au) use sub standard parts. The heating motor in these units simply wear out. Honestly it would be cheaper to go out and buy a new cheap unit than to get it repaired as the parts for these units are very expensive.
These items are clasified as disposable units. Where to but a new unit may cost $200 anf the replacement part may cost $150 and then you have the cost of labor of a Microwave specialist installing it. Which I would not attempt yourself as if it is not installed correctly or the unit not put back together correctly could cause harmful microwave leaks during operation.

My over the range microwave made a cracking sound and than stoped working it's 10 years old any ideas what could be wrong

That sound may have been caused by an arc-over in the magnetron. There is also the possibility that a high voltage power supply part (for the magnetron) has failed. This unit probably still has a 'linear' power supply so the part that failed could be only the rectifier diode and these are not terribly costly or hard to replace. I don't like to dispose of things that are repairable but the cost of labor and parts would likely exceed the cost of replacement unless you know of a retired service tech who is willing to do it for less.

How much is the cost for a new Household Microwave Oven (Danby)

To replace your model of Danby.... costs around $90 bucks. To fix ur Danby if its broken.... $65/hr service charge (minimum) plus parts.... We are in the disposable society, sad... but its cheaper to throw ur microwave away unless u know the basics to fix it ... like a fuse replacement. Otherwise,.. just go out and buy a new one.
