Hello,
My MX GA-77 sometimes looes the memory, which means that the display flashes "--:--" and the clock and all stored radio stations are lost. Before, you can hear the click that you hear when you turn the System on. If the unit is in ECO-Mode (energy saving mode where only the standby led is lit)and the error occurs, than I can't turn it on with any button. I have to replace the power cord. The problem appears sporadical. From about a few hours to a few days.
Another annoying fault with the unit is that sometimes the display demonstration appears itself, although I didn't press the demo button at all.
Can someone help me, thanks!

Dear mk2209,
Most of these type of stereo systems have a built in battery that enables a user to store radio stations and set the clock, timer, etc. In your case, however, I'm not too sure whether or not the battery is onboard(inbuilt) or external generally 'AA' or 'AAA' type or even a button cell CR2032 or CR2025. Check forthis first i.e. whether the battery has completed its usage life if its an external one. Next, there is a small device called a relay in the power supply section of your unit. The internal connections responsible for connecting all required circuits simultaneously may be malfunctioning. This can only be rectified by changing the relay.
Another possibilty is that there may be breakage in your power supply chord due to which - even if you may be keeping your unit on Stand-by mode, but because of the internal breakage, it looses power and therefore you loose your settings. Another possibility is there may be a loose contact in the mains plug socket end or the mains chord unit plug-up end. So now you get the picture somewhat. Another possibility is that the soft touch front pannel buttons have caught corrossion (because mostly people tend to use more of their remote control than the front panel buttons) with the result they shor intermitently thus causing the settings to reset or go haywire. Check all of the above. (You will not be able to change the tiny front panel buttons so refer it to an authorised service center)
Good luck.
