I just bought a front load washer from a online yardsale,. My issue is when washing shouldn't it fill up with water to wash. Mine let's some water down, but clothes just flop around, no suds either,

They don't fill all the way, in fact they are hard to tell when they are filled because the water level does not rise to the level of the glass in the door.

I have this problem too. Called the repair man out to the house & he just told me it was set at the factory & there was nothing he could do. I discovered if I held the water level knob between the settings given, water would run to the level I wanted as long as I held it in place, but I don't know if this does any damage to the machine. So I don't know if you want to try that or if it can even be done on your model???

Uses to much water, fiils half way up the glass with water///and really uses alot of water on express wash

Set the washer with a low water level settting to confirm if the clothes are soaked in , if the water level does not go down it is possible that the water level pressure switch is faulty.

Try adjusting the water lvl going into the washer. Adjust accordingly. If you have a meter, just the resistance of the valves. Unplug of course. It should read about 1.4k ohms ish. Could be higher or lower but roughly that.

Is it getting enough water?

For front loaders, they usually have the level underneath the door, they use small amounts of water, but they spin so all the clothes do get
soaked with water.

Siemens washing machine extremely low water level

This sound like a faulty water level switch. This is a diaphragm like device with a small clear plastic tube attached between the switch and the washer's outer tub. As water level increases, so does the pressure on the air in the tube and when it reaches a certain level, it activates the switch to shut off the water and signals the timer to start the agitate cycle. Look for any obstructions in the tube and the switch can be tested for continuity using a multimeter. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty switch. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Whirlpool Duet GHW9400 Water Level Seems Too Low

Scott,
Believe me, if the water level were ever several inches above the glass, you'd know about it 'cause it would flood your laundry room. Seriously. See? That rubber door boot/seal is not water tight (like a submarine) when the door is closed and locked, it's water "resistant".

Front loaders often appear as though the level is low, but they are designed this way. The clothing actually tumbles through the water as opposed to soaking in water like a top loader.

All of that to say that you have nothing to be concerned about. Your water level is fine.

SG

p.s. If your water level switch had failed, as you suspected, the water level would be too high and leak out the door.

Washer makes loud rattling noise when spinning

first check to make is to be sure machine is level using a 2ft level ck level side to side and front to rear see if level if not adjust either by adjusting level legs on bottom of machine or using wooden door shims available @ building supply store , if you don't have level use two small clear water glasses with a exact amount of water in each put a line on each glass measure with rule and make sure line is in exactly same spot on each glass fill to line and place one on rear of machine and one on front level till lines match then repeat process side to side

Bosch washing machine

With no clothes in the washer start a program. The washe level is below the door glass. the rinse level comes up 3 cm on the glass. The washer is designed to be water efficent. If you are not getting water this high, look at the pressure switch hose, maybe it is restricted and causing the pressure to be held in the washer.
