This sounds like a backlight problem. I've had this with an acer laptop before and it needed a new backlight replacment under warranty.
Also check things like the connection cable, try it with a different pc, try a different (lower) screen resolution in case it's not compatible.

Open it up and look at the capacitors. The round "tin can" looking components. If the tops appear bulged, then replacing them may help. Check out the YouTube video... and web site...

see repair emprex ebay item 300447533053, one was a weak back light needed replacing, test by using 3 out 4 with a spare to make the 4 out of 4 (if you have two lcd, just disconnect one panel completely and link 1 into the other inverter without dissassembling the pannel ! ie [=i=] - [==] to find or see if back lights, it's a bit young for the capacitors to go (1 or 2 years) , else over heating , try out of case on a plastic sheet or similar for the pcb side to rest on reassembled, I used this plus tape stuck it on the back of the pannel ie pannel, plastic sheet pcb's then power and vga connected , solved an over heating on a 2year emprex , LCD as just 3 parts and the casing, ps the high voltage parts with shock your hands don't touch when switch on!
5 times later still getting shocked, reaching in to adjust the vga ribbon!!!

SOURCE: I bought my emprex monitor
Yes it can be repaired usually just easier to by a new one. it sounds to me like it is a power supply for the monitor. The only hard thing would be getting the power supply for the monitor. Your can try contacting the manufacturer for it :) hop this helps
