Can not get the incline to go down on epic view 550

The treadmill is stuck in the max incline position, I need the code to do a master reset. When key is inserted, there appears three dashes, with the word incline below, for a few seconds before the main readout comes up. Pushing the incline key pad numbers, I get readout that the numbers are corresponding, but no movement of the machine. Everything else in the machine seems to work fine. The incline motor is new.

First check the incline motor is it getting hot after few minutes. Is it making any kind of humming noise when you try to get the incline down. Also check if something jamming the incline motor and not letting it to spin. Also recheck the incline motor and its connections. If any wire loose or got cut in between.First confirm this basic possibility. Also does the motor elevates the incline upwards, directly as the machine is turned ON.If the motor is trying to elevate upwards even when the treadmill is switched on but not being used, then this could indicate that there is an open circuit pushing mains voltage into the upwards motion of the motor whenever you have the treadmill on. But in general there could be two main problems; 1. the incline motor and mechanism is clogged with dust and needs cleaning out, or 2. the incline mechanism is damaged and needs replacing. To clean the incline mechanism you need to unplug the machine from the wall, remove the motor cover, and carefully clean round the inside of the motor bay with a vacuum cleaner. Be very careful not to damage or move any of the components inside as they can be quite fragile. You should see a large motor that runs the main running belt and another smaller motor (sometimes pointing downwards) with a large (1 inch+ in diameter) screw thread coming out of it. That screw thread is the incline mechanism which links to the base of the machine. If it's clogged with dust and carpet fibres it will jam the incline motor - it needs to be kept clean. if all this checked and still the problem is same and if you are confirmed that new incline motor is not faulty ,then try this procedure as follows:-- 1) First take the power cord off from power.
2) Then take a cover off from the bottom of machine, so you can access the motor.
3) Then unscrew the bolt on one of end on the incline motor. At this end, it is usually a big screw like a shaft. 4) Then try to make this screw turn. so the shaft can be turned freely. 5) Then without putting the motor back, connect all power back like normal, then put key into machine and try to go up or down on incline motor. 6) See if the incline is working with motor not fitted just its connection hanged outside. If it works then reconnect every thing. 7) If the motor still jams then repeat above steps with a big screw adjustment (loosing or tighten about 1/2 turn, it depends).
Try this procedure.Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

Hi,

Treadmills have a reset procedure for the incline function. With the key inserted in the console, activate the incline; while the incline is changing, remove the key. Wait 30 seconds, then replace the key. The incline should to maximum, then to minimum, resetting its limits. The procedure is in the manual if you have it.

Hello there, The first thing I would try is to calibrate the incline on the unit.
Do this using the following procedure.
With the safety key out, press the stop button along with the speed up button while inserting the safety key onto the unit.
remove your fingers from all buttons, Then press the stop button one time. Now press the incline up button one time.
The unit should go all the way to the top, then return to the bottom.
Remove the safety key and reinsert it to continue using the machine

If this does not work you can manually move the machine to the bottom using this procedure.
Remove the hood cover b removing 2 screws in the rear of the machine and removing the first 2 screws on the foot rails on each side.
You can now lift the cover out of the way.
At this point you will see the incline motor located in the center of the unit pointing in a downward direction.
On the top of the motor there will be a small fan encased inside of a metal cover. There will be a flat head screw located inside the metal frame where the fan is. Rotate this clockwise to lower the unit. (the motor is geared very high it may not seem as though it is moving but it is) be patient that procedure does take a little while.
Any questions please feel free to leave another message on this link.

Everything works except the Treadmill motor ? Incline works OK, belt doesn't turn at at all. Model EPIC View 550

1) You have problem with LUBE deck belt, this happen because the lack of maintenance, you must lube EVERY week, use 100% silicone lube. Maybe you have WORN deck belt,
2) LUBE the rollers bearing too, use wd-40
3) Test the drive belt motor, see for break, or worn, and replace or tension by 1/4"
4) Test the input voltage motor, if there are the motor need repair. see my personal TIPS for help and troubleshooting.
5) Test the output voltage board, for input voltage motor, if there are NOT the board controllers is faulty. God bless you. see the block diagram attached.

Incline is stuck, motor still runs?

First try to calibrate the incline as described in your owners manual.
Start the machine. Press the incline up button. While pressing the button, remove the safety key.
Release the inline up button and reinsert the safety key. The machine should run the full cycle, up to maximum elevation, then back down.
If the motor moves and then resets, you may have an incline motor sensor defect. You will need to order a new incline motor. The sensor is not available separately..

I have a new epic 550 and the treadmill will not latch up, in fact I called and got a new latch lock installed it and this one doesn't latch up either. any idea

Did you make sure the incline is completely down? I had a similar problem and then realized the incline was on 2. I recalibrated and then it latched fine.

We are putting the Epic 550 together and got to the part about the storage lock. When we try to lift the treadmill into a verticle position, it won't go up far enough. It only goes up about half way. Why?

check and see if you incline is down to zero if not this problem occurs or the or plug it in and if the incline reset itself then it should be o k if not you may have to do a calibration on it

How do you put the treadmill down? We can't seem to unfold the treadmill. It's an Epic View 550. Thanks!

There is a knob on the support bar behind the treadbelt deck. Give the deck a little push up, then pull the knob out and lower it.

The Incline is stuck at an angle

Check the motor and the gears that run the unit up and down. If is located on the front of the unit under the face plate. make sure everything is power everything. Also check the gears to make sure they did not break and check the tracks to make sure it did not fall off the track causing it to stay up
