Question about Oster Kitchen Appliances - Others

Model CKSTDFFM40 Deep Fryer User Manual care and cleaning instructions seem to suggest that oil reservoir can be removed from unit in order to facilitate pouring of cooking oil into a storage container. I was not able to find how to remove the oil reservoir. It seems to be assembled firmly in place with no release mechanism apparent to me. Please advise whether the oil reservoir is indeed intended for removal and, if so, how.

Thank you for pointing out that oil reservoir is not intended for removal.

Page 7 of the user manual needs to be edited where it says
"WARNING: Do not remove Oil Reservoir until the unit has cooled completely and is unplugged."

ITs not able to be removed all you can do is tip it upside down and empty as much as you can then you can clean it as best as you can.
Removing it would require alot of effort and could risk in breaking something its best for your own good leave it in, It has no quick release and isnt ment for removal unless being replaced.

Can't remove the oil reservoir to clean it.

We had same issue. My husband just unscrewed and removed the metal plate from the bottom of the unit looking for a solution. The reservoir cannot be removed. The heating coil is permanently attached (welded?) to the bottom of the reservoir. It is obvious, now, that the reservoir is not intended to be removed.

Ignore the statements in manual that say the oil reservoir is dishwasher safe and not to remove it until it's cool. They do not apply to this model.

INSTRUCTION BOOK FOR ULTREX MODEL 14278

From what I understand through QVC where I purchased my Ultrex Model LT 512 deep fryer, the Ultrex Company is no longer in existence. My detachable cord go destroyed, so I am looking to purchase a replacement through www.theconsumerlink.com T-Fal appliance replacement parts listing. Maybe you will find a compatible fryer and then order that manual.

Can you remove the bucket (part that holds the oil) on a CF153 ?

It should come out, because you may have to replace it one day. You may find the screws for it on the bottom side of the vat. Does it not have a spout at the bottom of it ?

Cleaning deep fryer

You can not remove the reservoir because if you clean it out with a hot soapy spange or rag. turn the frier over and remove the plate you will see why the reservoir wont come out.

Cleaning

From http://www.rivalproducts.com/help.aspx?helpNav=1: How can I clean my fryer? - Unplug from outlet and allow unit to cool. Always turn control to OFF then disconnect plug from wall outlet BEFORE disconnecting BREAK-AWAY CORD. - Clean the outside of the fryer and lid with a damp cloth. CAUTION: Do not use abrasive pads or alcohol to clean the fryer. - Remove basket handle, if one is included. Frying basket can be washed in hot soapy water. - Rinse and towel dry carefully. - Pour out oil and discard properly. - Wipe the inside with paper towels to absorb excess grease. Wash interior of fryer with hot soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. CAUTION: Never immerse the fryer in water or wash in running water. If you own a fryer with a removable bowl or other removable parts, refer to the Owner?s Guide for your specific fryer to determine which parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
