Hi,
When the penny jammed the pump the unit will stop working, when the pump cools down it should start working again, unless you have had this issue for a while. I would just replace the pump and install the fuse that comes with the pump now completely. You should not have any more issue if you complete the instruction that come with new pumps today.
Good Luck

Sorry about your Steelers.

I am currently pulling my washer apart again. This is the third time in about 5 years. Twice before I found pennies in the short black tube between the pump and the gray divert valve. I call it my 31 cent problem as the first time it was three dimes and a penny. I recommend turning the pump by hand. If it is turning freely, then I would squeeze the hose to see if you can feel anything inside. The tube is easy to remove and check as well, but any water is going to drain out on your floor. In my case I did not find any issue, put it all back together and it is running fine. Cross your fingers for me.

Have an antifreeze leak but not sure where its leaking from, doesn't seem to be hoses or radiator; car leaking under what i think might be the water pump

Yep that a one that will let the job down - the seal can go - what age and has the mix been kept with glycol and inhibitor as water will erode material.
Hard to see where water is comeing from as it leaks from around the shaft behind the pully.
Quite an easy fix which is no real emergency so long as you keep topping up radiator.
Check out replacement or recon existing, the price of some water pumps new replacement makes time and parts spent on repair far too expensive.
On the larger older diesels i have experiece of - the water pump would go whilst working in the day then cause bearing failure which would allow the fan blade to carve up the radiator.
Cost then would escalate, radiator, fan blades, water pump and if you were really unlucky some of the surrounding bits. All good fun

Good luck Owen

Vehicle was running and then went into linp mode.

This sounds like it may be as simple as cleaning the water or gunk out of the gas tank which is what I always do 1st because it's easy and inexpensive.

If your fuel is contaminated with gunk, grime, water and/or bottom junk like rust this will cause stalling!

Fill the tank with High Test, Add some dry gas and a good fuel system cleaner or 2 or 3 and this should dissolve all the gunk and clean the injectors! Read & follow the cans' instruction carefully.

If this cures the problem never let your gas tank get below 1/4 and especially never run it to empty as this is when the gunk and/or water will enter the system!

Hope this helps!
Good Luck!

WTW6600SW2 Won't Drain

We had the same problem. In our case a penny got down under the tub and into the pump. It caused a crack in the pump and it could not get the suction it needed to drain. A new pump solved the problem. Parts and labor to the tune of $195.

Water seems to be hot enough, drains properly, arnms not blocked, dishes not being cleaned at end of cycle. Almost seems like it is skipping the wash cycle.

Hi smiller8565,
There is 3 basic problems that will cause a dishwasher to not clean the dishes. You can check these problems and see if any will solve your problems.
1: If there is water or suds left in the dishwasher after the cycle is complete. This will cause dirty water to be used in the final rinse and the dishes will not get clean.
2: The pump that supplies water to the spray arms is jammed or defective and unable to pump the water properly, thus causing the dishes to remain dirty.
3: Timer, the timer is not allowing the machine to work in the wash cycle.
The solutions for these 3 are as follows.
1: check the drain line for blockage, if you have a disposal make sure it is clear and water flows down the drain properly. If you have suds left in the dishwasher, clean them out and run a couple cycles with not detergent to rinse away the old suds.
2: Look down in the bottom for any obstructions in the pump. Popcorn seeds, broken glass, etc.
3: If the unit is skipping the wash cycle you will most likely need a new timer or control assembly.
Good luck and I really hope this will Fix Ya

Error Code FL

I've had this issue three times. On the first case, I found my external drain hose ( the hose from your washing machine to the drain in your wall) was clogged with a penny. The original external drain hose has a valve that keeps water from coming back into the washing machine. The penny had lodged in the vlave. On the second occassion, a piece of a hankerchief was caught in the drain pump. This pump has a "propeller" that pulls the water out of the washing machine and pushes it out to the external drain hose. I took it off the drain pump motor and tried to clean it. The original pump is solid and you can't take it apart to clean it. I did the best I could, then put it back on. It made a loud noise when draining. Whirlpool no longer sales just the drain pump, you have to buy a complete new pump and motor combo. It costs about $70 on e-bay (new). It is fairly easy to install (30 min). The good thing about the new pump is that you can take the cover of the pump off without taking the pump motor off. The third time I took the pumpef cover off and found a penny lodged in the pump. After taking it out, the machine ran well.

Note 1: A good way to drain your washing machine is to take a hose pipe and put it in the top of the machine and then use a manual air mattress pump (in reverse mode) on the opposite end of the hose that you put outside. After several pumps on the air mattress pump sucking the water through the hose, you will create a suction that will keep flowing until much of the water is out of your tub. Be ready with several containers to catch the rest of the water when you take the hoses off the pump.

Note 2: Check pockets well to keep things from getting into the drain system. Use a delicate wash bag (a mesh bag) to wash undergarmets, hose, hankerchiefs, and other thin items that might get sucked into the drain system.
