You won't find how to fix an overheating engine in an owners manual.
Take the case apart and expose the engine. Clean it thoroughly, being specially careful with the cooling fins and the air ports in the case. Replace the air filter and remove, clean and reattach the carburetor. Finally check the fan.

When to change oil for the first time

Hi David:
There may be a recommendation in the owners manual.
Depending on how many hours you are running it, I would recommend:
- 1st change including filter after 25 hours (just because there may be some "run in" residue.
- Every 100 hours and at the end of each cutting season. (best not to leave used oil in an engine for long times.

Cheers

The orange lever to adjust the choke when starting broke off- where and how do I order one to replace it?

If you are taking about the plastic that attached to the end...most any mower repair shop can help..or just take a small piece of wooden Dow rod and drill a small hole in the end big enough to tightly fit on the end and clue it on..will work just fine...good luck..

Rascal 600T Scooter FIX IT Manual

There is an owners manual available which has a troubleshooting guide at the following: http://manuals.monsterscooterparts.com/mobility/Rascal/manual-rascal-600-t.pdf

If you have a good relationship with a local dealer they may be able to copy and provide you with one.
Electric Mobility, the manufacturer, in my experience will not provide one to you.

What kind of fluid goes in the hydrostatic drive ? The mower goes fine in forward and reverse when first started. As the mower heats up it has trouble pulling itself. After about an hour it will barely...

Hi Jeff,

Use hydrostatic fluid. Consult your owner's manual for information. Do not use hydraulic transmission fluid.
If you do not have your owner's manual, you can find one on www.managemylife.com Just go to that site, click on manuals and enter your make and model number.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

My John Deere L130 riding mower quits after it has been running

A John Deere repair guy showed me how to fix this. It is very simple. Remove the gas cap. Pop out the liner in the gas cap with a thin pocket knife. Clean out the cap. From the top of the cap, where it comes to a peak, take a very fine point (even a small knife blade will do) and make sure the little hole in the top (that you didn't know was there) is clear. The engine is starving because the gas tank is not properly vented. I suffered with this problem for two years until he came to sharpen my blades and I asked him about this. A two minute, free fix did it and I have never had problems again.
