I accidentally changed my NAM setting from 1 to 2. My phone turned off and when it turned back on it started asking for an unlock code. My code isnt working and neither are the default codes. Is there a reset code or something that will unlock my phone. I have metro and they told me to take it to a store to get it unlocked but i am out of town and the nearest store is to far away. Any help would be great. Thank You
I was just playing around wit my phone and switched it from nam 1 to nam 2 and now it won't let me on it the phone is locked, and my access code is being denied when I try to unlock it. Is there a way to unlock it?

PLEASE BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE UNLOCKING This will also bring the phone to default settings 1. First do a CUSTOM reset: *2767*2878# turn off the phone 2. take out the battery and sim and put wrong network SIM and insert only a half of it, Very important so it won't ask for network password and shows "Insert SIM" message.(possibly in a different language) Now put the battery ,and switch the phone on .(phone shows "Insert SIM" message.) 3.push the sim fully in at this stage the phone is still asking to "Insert SIM" 4. Make a FULL reset: *2767*3855# 5. The phone should reboot working with "wrong" sim inside. 6. Make a Change the NCK password to 8 zeros by typing: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000# 7. Now Disable network lock By typing: #7465625*638*00000000# Phone is unlocked
If your phone is set to lock, and you have changed the Nam, you will have to take your phone to your provider so that they can read the lock code for Nam 2 and change it back to Nam 1. You may want to call them first, they might have a standard code that they use.
Here's some ideas for unlock codes, most phones use the last 4 or possibly 7 digits of the phone number, 4 or 5 - 0's or 12345. Basically your NAM settings contain the phone number info for a carrier, and you can put two different numbers in the same phone using NAM1 and NAM2, what you have done is switch it to an empty NAM so it is asking for the rest of the programming info to set it up.If you can switch it back to NAM1 it should work again. Most phones have an option in the menu for phone settings that allows NAM switching without needing a code.
when phone turns on it probably says something in the way of needs initial set up or something simular? at that screen just hit clear button which will take you rt back to default screen then hit center menu button go to settings and then to phone settings, nam and chaNGE back to nam1,hit ok . phone will restart and come back on with everything normal again, let me know if different happens!
youve changed the NAM setting. you have to do the following. MENU>SETTINGS & TOOLS>PHONE SETTINGS>NAM SELECT> NAM 1. (if its already on nam one, youd have to switch it two the other.) WARNING: Make sure your phone isnt set to unlock on power up. <MUST!!! you can set it back after.
have you done restore factory settings firstThe Nokia 2160 series hand portable CMT uses an EEPROM NAM that can be programmed directly from the standard user keypad. In order to access the NAM, you must enter the special access code currently programmed into the phone. Once the programming mode is accessed, NAM parameters are loaded by entering them into the display and "storing" them to selected memory locations. Be sure to obtain all parameters before proceeding.
EASY NAM PROGRAMMING
1. Turn on phone.
2. Enter the Easy NAM access code. Access code is: *#639#
3. Verify the display now reads "Cellular Number" and enter the 10 digit MIN for the phone.
4. Press the softkey under the word "OK" in the display. If less than 10 digits are entered an error message will prompt you to reenter the number.
5. Verify the display reads "Enter code" and enter the five digit SID followed by four zeros. (Example 001750000 is a SID of 175 followed by four zeros). An error message will display if an incorrect entry is made. Do not add more than four zeros to the code.
Note: Change the Lock code by adding a pound sign and new lock code after the code. (Example: 001750000#7788. Lock code = 7788).
Change the Language code by adding a pound sign (#) and new language code after the code. (Example: 001750000#2. Language = 2)
