if you can match the wiring funtions of each unit up one wire at a time.. then check before installing for operation..you have4 speakers (normally) a memory wire (on all the time for clock and stations) power wire(hot with key on) ground wire and antenna lead.. good luck..wire colors will not match but functions need to..(what each wire is for)

I hook up a jvc kd-s16 and it will not keep the memory of the stations can you help

The yellow wire is the constant 12+V.
It has to be hooked up to a constant battery source.
If you did not install an aftermarket wiring harness consult
http://www.installdr.com/QuickWiring.html to find the constant 12+V wire color code in your dash.
If you unhook your battery, you can splice into the cigarette lighter hot wire to keep the constant memory of stations and clock time.

Bought a used 5300 printer and installed new color and black cartridges. Cannot get the black to print at all. Some color but very faint. What is the problem

You need to clean the "ink tops" in the printer.
Better have the lab do it.
If you decide not to , just use warm-hot water & simple kitchen soap.
Let it dry for at least a day before plugin it in the power back.

Installing radio in 85 mercedes-benz

there is no amplifier. you just need to find the memory wire that is hot all the time and the 2 wires that are hot with the key on. One is for radio operation and the other is for antenna operation. The speaker power is supplied through the fader switch in the center console and the switch is powered by the head unit. Just hook up your circuit 30 and your 2 circuit 15 with a ground and run you speaker wires to the head unit or if you are installing an amp from the wires from the fader switch. That switch can be popped out with a flat blade screw driver, Hopefully i have been helpful

Loss of sound after i start the angine

red - switched power (hot when key is on)
yellow - constant power (hot at all times - depending on the vehicle, i've used a direct battery connection, but isn't recommended)
black - ground
blue - power antenna or amplifier 'REM' wire

the other's, i'm working off of old memory....
purple - rear right
green - rear left
white - front right
gray - front left

wires with black stripes are ground, and without are hot

- if you're working on an older car, it sounds like your red and yellow are connected to the same power source. if this is the case, the time will always be resetting.
- if it's a newer vehicle, AND the time is not resetting, the red wire is connected to the wrong source. if the time and stations stay programmed after it shuts off, the yellow wire is correct.

Stereo wireing

go to advanced auto parts and buy a connector for your car. just go and give them year, model and make and when you get it connect the same color wires from the stereo to the stereo harness. all of the colors are the same.
