Kenmore 90 series washer. As the tub tries to

Hi,
It sounds like you have a bad timer. If you change the position of the timer and it does not change what is going on the the timer has to be bad. However I am not certain what you mean by the agitator turns all the time. Is it agitating while spinning and draining?

My wahing machine (Kenmore 90 series, toploading) won't go past the agitate cycle.

After agitate - the next cycle is drain.
Nothing would prevent this from happening in the logic sequence except a faulty timer.

Sears website or repairclinic.com will have the timer when you enter the full model number.

I just replaced the transmission on my Kenmore 80. No agitation

your motor turns one way for the spin cycle and the other way for agitate. remove the coupler and test it that way.

Washing machine will fill with water, but won't articulate

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

I assume that you mean after filling, it won't begin the agitate cycle.

If you can hear the motor but the agitator won't move, it could be the "motor coupling". (See the motor section of the Sears site. This coupling is a fail safe between the motor and transmission. If the plastic prongs break, or the rubber center piece wears out, the transmission cannot agitate the washer.

If you can't hear the motor, it could be a timer problem.

Try to manually move the timer to a spin position and see if the motor / transmission move. If they do, it is most likely a timer.

Kenmore 70 series will not rinse pleave advise how to fix this problem

If the machine agitates, spins and drain ok I would try different cycles and if some work and some don't change the timer. Timer is model 3951166 and runs for around 112 dollars Availible here only: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/retrieveSubComponentPartsAction.action?modelNumber=11022422100&productCategoryId=0153200&brandId=0582&modelName=AUTOMATIC WASHER, COMPACT A/W&diagramPageId=00002&componentDescription=CONTROL PANEL&documentId=P0102319&backToLink=Return to Sub Components list

Does it hum or click? If it clicks your coupler is out or a hum could be a faulted gearcase.
