What you need for this Plasma will be a HDMI to DVI cable and maybe a specialty Component to SVGA cable. This plasma has the SVGA in and Out ports as well as a DVI port. The other thing to consider is if your plasma has the upgrade card that will also accept RCA component and S-Video. If you don't have the upgrade card, I would highly recommend it. This is a great monitor!

Greetings 4mother,

It would really depend on what type of hook up you are using. Most of the time a plasma television would be hooked up with either and HDMI or component cables. Your local store should be able to make a solid recommendation based on the items hooked up to your television such as cable or satellite box, dvd player, etc.

I hope this helps.

Thank you,

Dorothy

Hi .. need to connect my tv audio through my pioneer 5.1 home theater.I was using normal video audio cable ...shall i use component cable???pls advice

"Component" cable refers to the 3-wire hi-def video connection. It's irrelevant to audio.

Assuming you get all your TV programming through a cable box...

The TV wouldn't actually be a source of audio.

I would advise you to route the Cable Box's BEST DIGITAL audio directly to the Pioneer model number ????? (which would be helpful to know for this conversation).

Run the cable box's normal analog audio to the TV so you can watch it without the Pioneer turned on.

And route the best Cable Video (HDMI, Component?) directly to the TV. Unnecessary paths through the receiver can degrade the signal.

No sound on tv Help my mother in law is very unhappy

Hi,

Check that all of the cables are plugged into the back of the TV. Check over your connections and the TV settings, I'm assuming you do have satellite or cable. Make sure that the cables you screw in are all the way screwed in and all the color coated cables are into the right color outlet, especially the red and white ones. And just to be sure, check if you accidentally hit mute.
Even if you have an S-video connection it is suggested plugging in the audio cables if all else fails.

Please get back to us if you have any further query or else accept the solution.

My Pioneer Elite PRO-111FD just shut off on it's own, and now won't turn back on. No green or red indicator light... nothing. Any suggestions?

Check your power source (electrical outlet) and the power cable. If electrical outlet is ok, try using a different power cable (the cable that you plug on to the electrical outlet going to your TV set). If everything is ok but still no indicator light, call your technician there might be a problem with the TV power supply.

How to connect BLU-RAY DVD player to Pioneer Plasma TV via HDMI

The best possible solution to your problem is :
Connect your blu ray player directly to the HDMI input of you Plasma and watch HD video....
and connect the 5.1/7.1 sound thru the optical or the coaxial link directly to your AVR 3805.
You will not loose anything on the Blu-Ray.
The sound is best processsed by the AVR3805, while the video, which is the real upgrade (BluRay) in terms of resolution of picture would be processed by your plasma.

Connect and Enjoy

Very possible, but yet, this might be the manufacturer defect power supply which they will fix it for you free;but before we jump to this conclusion, you need to test it first:
-Unplug the power cords.
-Unplug the media video cable from the box to the tv.
-Check all the pins on the video cable are in place as well as the connectors both behind the TV and the media box.
-Reconnect the media box and TV with the video cable(DVI+VGA in one) and have at least a video component hook up to it(ex. dvd player/VCR or comcast box) be sure this video player is turn on and running,at the same time,be sure it is under the right video input.
If you have tried the above steps but still doesn't work, call 1-800-pioneer Tuesday-Thursday at7amPST and address your issue to them.
Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Proper input for TV audio signal

Do you have your DVD player running through your receiver? You want the red and white (audio) cables to go from your DVD player to your receiver and the yellow (video) cable to go from your DVD player to your TV. Separate the red, white, and yellow cable into separate strands if you need to, but be careful not to tear the insulation. They should pull apart fairly easily. If I'm totally off or you're using a coaxial or component video/audio cables or a fiber optic cable, let me know. Hope this helps
