Question about Samsung RB2155SH Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

2 Answers

Sir, I have a Samsung RB2155SH refrigerator/freezer. It has stopped working on two occasions both times the fault has been identified as an open circuit DA47-000095E thermo fuse assembly. On this occasion the PCB main DA41-00128D was changed out. This last Sunday the refrigerator stopped working again and I changed the freezer defrost sensor and the thermistor DA32-00006C. Both times after repair the refrigerator went back to normal operation, the first time for 6 weeks and the second time for three days before the thermo fuse went open circuit again. If I remove the plug from the socket and then reinsert it the refrigerator will go into normall operation until it gets to a defrost cycle where it will hang up and not proceed. Best Regards CC Why does the freezer thermo fuse assembly go open circuit?

    Sir,
The defrost circuit has an interposing relay to power up the defrost heaters. Any time delay off if it is incorporated would have to be in the main board logic. I suspect however it measures evaporator temperature from the evaporator sensor against a set point during defrost. As I have replaced the main board, defrost thermal fuse and the temperature sensor I am at a loss to figure this out.

    Best Regards

The freezer thermo fuse is there to prevent the defrost heater to run for too long. The thermistor or the defrost sensor is not giving the correct signal to the controller which keeps running the heater system and then blows the thermo fuse. This would also cause the freezer to stop.

By taking the plug out you reset the controller which then starts operating again as normal until the defrost sensor tells it to stop cooling and start the heater. I know you have gone through a lot of parts already but have you checked if the heater itself is ok.

As you have mention during the defrost cycle you the problem so you need to check the defrost timer and second the defrost heting element, probably this is what is caused the problems also to PCB and if you don't act fast you will probably need another PCB board.

I will not use my refrigirator for six months. What shall I do? Unplug the power?

If you are not using it , the power can be dislocated , but you should #1 prop the doors open so that the air can move and dispell any moisture that would otherwise cause odor problems in 6 months time....
a box of baking powder in the freezer and one in the fridge is recomended too.

Replaced 30 watt bulb in refrigerator section with 25 watt bulb still will not light otherwise working well, my be switch . freezer section light works

Either the door switch or the light socket is bad. Disconnect the refrigerator and pull the switch out and test it with an ohmmeter for continuity.

RB2155SH. Refrigerator does not cool. Freezer works fine

Sir, To solve this problem, you must open the compressor area at the back bottom of the refrigerator and chek the temperature of the pressure line. If the temperature is between 55celcius to 60 than its ok. Or else you need to change the refrigerant. I suggest you to contact the service authority.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.

Refrigerator side makes noise, not getting cold

I have same fridge freezer & luckily a extended warranty, engineer has been out on numerous occasions & the motor is getting freezed up, which is why the noise stops when the door is opened. Get rid of it! No solution to the problem...its a faulty appliance & a well known fault with this model or so I have been told. Good luck.

Model #RB2155sh. Refrigerator will not cool.

sounds like the evaporator fan motor is wearing out. This problem is very hard to diagnose because the fan still spins, But it does not spind fast enough to circulate the chilled air thru the freezer and refrigerator. The minimum cost labor and parts is around $300.00. If you try and repair/replace the fan motor yourself, You can find the motor for thaat fan for around$80.00, But this doesn.t count the cost is the other components are worn out,(blade, noise arrestors, mounting bracket). I would let a serviceman make this repair because reaching the electrical connection for the fan is labor intensive.
