The best way to winterize the mixer valve is to purchase a
warming strip and wrap it around or under the valve.
Some refrigerators have these strips inserted into the drain
of the freezer to keep it the drain from freezing.
They use a negligble amt of electricity and they will plug into the
socket behind the washer.
You can probably find one of these at your local appliance parts
store. But you have to ask for a drain warming strip.
also i think the major lumber yards will have these warming strips.(Lowes,Home Depot, etc.)
Thanks for using me to help. I am happy to assist.
Let me know if you need any other info.

Sorry, I didn't know that. The only way I could advise is to remove the mixer valve.

Or make sure the hoses are removed so there is no pressure .

One sure way would be to take off the hoses and blow compressed air into the va

    lve openings.

You also may lay it down on its back and let the water drip out.

    Hope this helps.

You are correct. One of the solenoids on the water valve is not shutting completely and will need to be replaced before it sticks wide open and cause a flood. Here is the part to order. To replace the valve, remove the screws on the top panel, slide it back and lift it off. There you will have access to the valve replacement.

Upon further investigation (opening up the front panel & top) could tell it was the injector valve (between the mixing valve and tub inlet). You would think after 21-years they would have designed a more robust solution!! Quick trip to the parts store, back together and working fine.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Either the hot or cold water valve is not closing completely. In either case, the mixing valve assembly will require replacing.

You have several possibles problems

The pressure switch could be faulty or the tube that runs from the pressure switch down to the accumualtor could have a cut or tear in it. solution replace hose.

or The mixing valve could be hanging open also with a piece of debris. solution replace mixing valve

For now turn the water when your not using your machine.
