Question about Washing Machines
To start with, the thumb rule is ' If the cost of repair is more than half the cost of the unit, it is not advisable to repair it '. Now, as the machine is made in 87 - it is a whole lot of time. So, calling someone to repair it would not be a wise option as there could be many other parts that would be worn out.
Now, Leak - There is no point of calling someone for repair. However, if this is a minor fault, you could try to repair about yourself. If the machine only leaks while you use it, check all the hose and make sure that there should not be any lose connection or there is no crack / damage. After this check, the location of the leak. Check the inlet valves. If you could find a leak, that good.Replace the faulty component unless better to go for a new one.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
