More likely to have bad DC filter caps problem in the power supply or problems in the backlight inverter circuits.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed ACER monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

HP LP3065 monitor turns off and won't turn back on; is this a Windows problem

It doesnt sound like a windows problem. A simple test for this is to unplug the vga or hdmi cable from the monitor then turn it on if it has power it should say no signal. Also try either another power cable to the monitor or change the fuse. Hope this helps.

My computer screen is unstable and the picture keeps"slipping' what canI do?

  • check the connections, make sure everything is in tight and right
  • if you can unplug the monitor cable, and try it with a different computer, if it doesnt work then you need to buy a new cable
  • this is most likely a connection problem so check and test all connections

then we are going to a proceedure called as powercycle..
after unplugging all the cables..
press and hold the power button for 5 - 10 secs..
or you could leave the computer for 30 secs.. without connecting the cable..
connect only the basic cables. .such ... keyboard. mouse. monitor.. cpu and restart your computer..

Speakers killed my moniter

Well as you have already tried disconnecting the peripherals from your computer, and tried restarting the computer too which did not help you, it sounds to be an hardware issue with the monitor. However if incase you have not tried this, you can disconnect the monitor completely from the tower, power on the monitor, if it powers on and you get a message as no signal, your monitor is working good. If not replace the monitor. If the message appears on the monitor screen, disconnect everything from the tower, push and hold the power button on the tower for a minute. Connect just the monitor and check for any display. If you do get display, thats good, connect one device at a time and check to see if the display appears.

If theres no display with just the monitor connected, the issue would be with the graphics card. You may need to replace it or get the system repaired.
