If you meant the internal burner in particular rather than that laptop using external dual-layer burners, hit eject and read the model number off the bottom of the DVD tray. Google the part number and 'dual-layer' together to find out whether it's supposed to burn dual-layer discs and also find out -with what speeds- people have achieved empirical success burning discs.
Feel joy as search engines and libraries become productivity-enhancers for you; there is little risk of sterility as from ingestion of hormones or allergic reaction as from blood doping. I think.
