"The best way to recover is to switch off the monitor, unplug the video lead, reconnect and switch on again." Windows should be Shut Down when you do that - otherwise you can damage the circuits on the video card, especially if you forget to turn off the monitor first. To power off, you need to hold the power button in for about 5 seconds. The motherboard needs to be operational for this to work. Whenever you load Windows from a regular Windows CD (or DVD) from scratch, after Setup is finished you must load the drivers for the motherboard, particularly the main chipset drivers, in order for Windows to have the proper drivers for and information about your motherboard hardware, including it's AGP or PCI-E, ACPI, and hard drive controller support. If you have the CD that came with the motherboard, all the necessary drivers are on it. If you load drivers from the web, brand name system builders and motherboard makers often do not have the main chipset drivers listed in the downloads for your model - in that case you must go to the maker of the main chipset's web site, get the drivers, and load them. Many mboards will not produce a display in Windows ME and previous if the following setting is wrong. Usually in windows 2000 or XP you will have video in Windows even if this setting is wrong, but if it IS wrong your card will not work as it should in Windows e.g. an AGP card set to PCI will be running in PCI mode and the superior AGP capabilities will not work. or
More recent motherboards may produce an error beep pattern while booting indicating the setting is wrong for the card you are using. It's possible you'll get a message from the motherboard bios as well. So check it out you have connected properly or not
All the best!

Display not shown?

1) Does the monitor show No Signal?
If so go on.

If not;

Use another known to be good monitor, and monitor cable, on your desktop computer. Be aware that the problem may be the monitor cable.

Or use your monitor cable, and monitor, on another KNOWN to be working computer.
The monitor isn't receiving a Video Signal. Means the signal is not reaching the monitor. Could just be a bad monitor cable.

2) If the monitor is good, and the monitor cable is good, the problem is the computer itself. The computer isn't working.

You may see LED lights light up, hear fans running, and maybe even the Harddrive spinning.

Problem could be the Power Supply.

A) IF, all of the LED lights were on at once, they would use less than 1 Watt of power.

B) EACH fan only uses 2 to 3 Watts of power.

C) A typical Processor can use 51 to 125 Watts of power. Just depends on what Processor it is.
(Older Intel Pentium III processors, and AMD Athlon processors, use less power than 51 Watts)

Not enough power? BIOS will not turn the Processor on.

Solution is to test the Power Supply's 3 main voltage power rails, or use another KNOWN to be good, COMPATIBLE power supply, for a test unit.

The 3 main voltage power rails are;

A) 3.3 Volt power rail

B) 5 Volt power rail

C) 12 Volt power rail

Test is done with an economical Multimeter, set to DC Voltage.

Post the model number of the IBM Netvista desktop computer. You will find it on the back of the computer, next to the Windows product key,
(XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX), or up on the side of the computer tower.

My netvista is a 2000 year model and has a 564 Mhz processor. Can I put a faster processor in it?

Possibly but would not be worth the cost and the fastest processor of the same type would still be extremely slow. I would sugest looking into getting a second hand PC with atleast a 2MHz processor.

Last Night I use my PC for 4 hours but after that i turn off properly but when in the morning i try to on my PC it didn't turn on when i press the power button nothing displaying for me only one light is...

First of all when you switchon your PC, checkout whether your processor Fan is running. Because problem might be because of SMTP failure [Power Supply in your CPU] if its working fine and you are able to see LED glowing in *********** board, might be loose connection in your Hard disk cable.
Let me know this didn't help you out or if you need more info.

Processor Upgrade For An IBM Netvista 8307-73G...

If the physical size, and numper of pins is the same as your current processor, you can most definately upgrade. Hyper threading is enabled through the bios, but as far as I know it's not neccesary.
Swapping out processors is fairly easy, and when you buy a new one, it should come with extensive instructions and pictures showing you exactly how to do it. Good luck!

IBM Netvista powers up for only 3 seconds

if you have to wait some minutes to restart it, that is overheating...try putting a ventilator (the bigger the better, the thing here is give lots of air to the processor > CPU) and see how its working...

There is a bunch of "model" numbers for the IBM netvista PC. You didn't menton yours in your question but after looking at a dozen or so I'll bet you have at least one PCI slot free for a wireless PCI card.
