If your plug points are getting power, then follow as listed below.
Open the back cover carefully. identify the screws with a torch light, remove them. You may have to remove two screws holding the audio video socket panel. This is in the back panel. TV weight is on the front side. Hence guard it. By chance by applying pressure on the screw driver it may fall off!!
Follow the power wire and check the fuse. It may have a small cover where the fuse is secured. Remove the cover and take the fuse out. Just view fuse in light. If the wires are parted apart, replace it. same type and rating.
make it sure that the coaxial cable has its own signal! if your tv has a raster (sometimes blue) and it says that the tv is good, but if there's no channel at all then the problem is in digital converter or the connection of the coaxial cable comes from..you can also try auto programing but if the problem still occured then contak your cable subscription channel
It is not a matter if your TV is compatible with a digital signal, it is the signal being offered to the TV. Meaning, if you are using Cable TV, you are fine and need no further action because the digital signals are already converted by the Cable Box into either an analog TV (RF) signal, or a PBR (RGB or Comp.Video) signal which the TV understands via a separate input (external video input).
YES! the antenna will plug into the same spot the cable wire is connected too ( you may have to buy a adapter for $1.00 for the the antenna wires to connect to back of your set available at any wall-mart or radio shack) And since your switching to antenna you will need to buy a digatil converter box in FEB to get antenna TV!

Check is RF Antena/ Cable connected? If yes, go to TV Menu and select Auto-Program. TV will start tuning and search all available channels on cable/ on-air. If there is no channel reception, TV has defective Tuner. If you know basic electronics knowledge, replace the Tuner or contact nearest Sony repair shop.
I have the same problem. Picture cuts out completely then back on. When I first turn it on, it does this constantly for about 15-20 mins, then about once every 30 mins or so.The sound is fine, but the picture just flashes on and off. The color is also starting to shift a lot and cannot be fixed by adjusting COLOR-BRIGHTNESS-PICTURE in the video control menu system. Nothing seems to correct this. I've even unplugged the TV over night to see if it needed some sort of reset. Model = KV-20FV12. Purchased in 2004 My connection is a direct cable connection - Comcast cable. Same problem persist while showing a DVD as well.
