Question about Sharp XL-MP130 170-Watt 5-Disc CD Micro System Shelf System

1 Answer

Hi! I'm a music teacher who just came back from summer vacation and plugged in my xl-mp130. It seems to be in sleep mode or something. There is a little red light that blinks just below the word "timer," and next to the word, "on." There is no response to any other button, and therefore, I cannot use it. HELP! I would do a hard reset to start and that is simply unplugging the unit for approx 5 mins than plugging it back in--a power surge or brownout can confuse the micro and a reset is all it needs sometimes--good luck!

Unable to turn off music in sleep mode

Hi, There are different levels of sleep a computer goes through as time passes and it can take a while for your computer to fully awaken. What happens is the computer closes programs not necessary in sleep mode. Some of the small programs used to carry instructions called batch files are in hibernation and especially in older computers with slower processors and very little ram can be a problem. You can set your computer to never sleep by going to the control panel and opening Power Settings. Good Luck

I have a sharp xl mp130 can't get it off standby

Check the wiring on the back for any shorts, if no change the audio output chips should be suspect and a qualified technician to take it to the next step.

Not turning back on after sleep mode

I had the same problem when I first bought my Acer Aspire One a few weeks ago. I searched the web for answers, but it didn't really seem like anyone had a solution. However, one guy on a forum or website said something that gave me an idea - he said something like: What's the problem? Just open it up, hit the power button, type your password, and it wakes up.

Well, that didn't seem helpful to me at the time that I read it, but after thinking about it, I had a hunch. I had not set up my netbook to have a password (yet). So I did. And it's been waking up from sleep mode like it should ever since!!!

Hopefully, if you're reading this, setting a password will work for you, too. If you don't know how to set a password, here goes... Start...Control Panel...User Accounts...Change an Account...[Pick your name.account]...then the option to create a password should come up. Let us know if this works for you!

This is the least of your concerns - change the battery again. The average life span of an mp3 player is less than 1 year. In 2009, consumer reports is finally going to come out with its reliability ratings, and mp3 players are going to fare worse than laptops which have a 43% failure rate in their first 3 years.

Canon pixma MP130 is not working

The cartridge seem to be jammed at the extreme right end of my machine. Pulled the ribbon to bring the cartridge slots to the centre. Then removed the cartridges. Unplug the power behind. After a minute, plug back the power. Load back the cartridges. Printer resumes back to working mode.

Unresponsive buttons

First, try unplugging the unit for a couple of hours. That should reset the internal microprocessor. If that fails, try pushing all of the buttons one at a time. If one of them is stuck, nothing will work properly. You should be able to feel the button working. Report back here with your results.

Sharp XL-MP130 CD shelf sys. won't work...at all

Hi There,

The clicking noise is usually the power supply "tripping" because of an over load, your explanation of the fault is very good and helps us in advising you about the fault...

Because the clicking gets slower it means that you have reduced the current being drawn from the power supply.

The item that is causing the over load is the item that when you plug it in or turn it on causes the clicking to start up...

Tyhe power supply is called a switched mode power supply and is usually a collection of transistiors capacitors resistors and a transformer all specially set up to make DC Direct Current and AC alternating current power for your electronics to work with.

These power supplies are expensive and no fuses are employed to make them work but a special detector circuit is installed to close down the power when a high current draw down is detected, Once the high draw down is detected the power supply closes itself down, so then it sees no more high current draw down so it starts up again and this causes the click as the internal transformer and capacitors once again start the cycle to operate to make the DC/AC supplies. So once started up the High current is detected and the power supply closes it self down and the cycle is repeated over and over....

Its a specialised job to locate the problem so its not something you can do your self without electronics training...
