Check lint trap. then check heating element or thermal fuse. both located in back panel, before removing back panel unplug from wall. locate heating element remove wires and with volt meter set on continuity check for reading or continuous beeping sound. if no sound or reading, replace element. or locate thermal fuse located near exhaust duct, the fuse is coated in white or black plastic with 2 leads sticking up, remove wire and no continuity replace it i hope this will help

My Samsung dv5471aepxac01 dryer tubler runs even though the dryer is off

check ur power source and make sure ur getting a full 220 and not just 110 as if ur only getting half the current then u will have enough power to run the machine which only takes 110 but not enough to run the heating as that takes a full 220

OR you may have a broken centrifugal switch in the motor because this switch activates the motor and the heater as well. supposed to be if the motor does not run , the heater should not heat in order not to create fire but you said that even the motor is not running, the heater is still heating, then there could be a problem with the motor centrifugal switch that is connected to this interlock switch that should trigger the heater.

Outdoor not running

First things first When a unit wont run turn it off!!! When a capacitor fails the motor will not start but power is still going to the motor . The motor will continue to build heat until the thermal overloads cut it off. When it cools down it comes back on and the process will be repeated over and over. In a package unit or air handler with heat strips the heat goes through the same cycles. Heat strips are thermally protected to turn off when there is no air flow to carry the heat away. Back to the motor not running. If it's a GE X13 non capacitor motor you need a new motor, in warranty you pay the for service call and installation. Out of warranty $560 plus installation.
Other units check the capacitor ,it should be flat on top where the wires plug on-Failed it will be swelled and rounded a little.

Amana heat pump emergency heat comes on but blower will not start. The call for heat comes in and the heating element(s) glow red for a few seconds and then there is a "click" and the heating...

Check the blower motor capicator. It should be mounted close to the motor with 2 wires to it (brown,brown/white).
Turn the blower on the thermostat and spin the squirrel cage by hand and see if it runs after by itself. If it does then definitely the capicator is bad .If it still doesn't run then check to see if there is voltage going to motor.
If thermostat is calling for fan and there is voltage present at the motor terminal then the motor is bad

I have a Jacuzzi laser sand filter. The system worked fine until I noticed that the circulating motor was extremely hot when running. The pump and motor were very old and in poor shape. So I replaced the...

this sounds like a supply power problem. The motor is not getting enough power. Check the line to see how many amps you're getting. The motor will tell you how many amps you need on the data plate. When a motor heats up and trips it's internal high limit, it's usually due to insufficient supply power. Heat is a byproduct of inefficiency. Also, if this is running on 220v, make sure both legs of 110 have power. Sometimes motors can attempt to run even though half the volts are missing.

Whirlpool dryer WED5530SQ0, heats but does not run

So,. basically your drum doesnt turn. SO your getting heat still even though the drum isnt turning. Is this right? Sounds strange??? Do you hear any humming noise when you push the start button? I need to know a little more about the problem because im kinda confused as how you decribed the problem. Iv never seen a dryer heat but the drum not spinning. especially your model dryer. Its electric heat right? because if the drum doesnt spin, maybe your motor is bad. and if your motor is bad, then your heating element wont heat up because the centrifical switch in the motor is not switching to complete the circuit to the heating element. So this is why im confused when you said" Dryer heats when knob turned but when "push button" pressed, drum doesnt run." Because your belt wraps around the motor pully and the motor is what makes the drum turn. Like i said, i never seen this model dryer heat with out the motor operating. So if you can give me some more info, ill do my best to help you out....Thanks!!!!

Heat/air fan

could be a motor brush problem. try to tap the motor slightly and see if the motor would run. also try to wiggle the wire and see also if the motor would run.
if the motor will run, pull the fan down and replace the brushes of the motor.

MUM 6622 Motor Has voltage to it but will not run!

I have the same problem after running for a while, turning off then back on. It will not start. I found the heat sink fuse in the motor was burning out. When the motor gets hot then turned off, no fan and the heat build up enough to melt the heat fuse. It would be an easy replacement if I could find where to get them. To find it on the motor, look at the wire going from one corner of the motor to another, but looks like it goes into the motor in between. Pull on that going into the motor to lift the heat fuse out.

Its a maytag dryer will not dry ,check heating element - good, checked thermostat - good, What else should I try?

please check if the motor is running. there is still a switch in the motor in series with the heating element so that it won't heat if the motor is not running.

Whirlpool dryer won't run

This sounds like something may be mis-wired...or there may be a defective switch contact in the timer or one of the other controls. If the heater element comes on with the blower motor not running, it should quickly overheat and trip one of the thermal shutoff switches.
