This stapler does not swing open like a paper stapler. It has a little square metal piece at its heel (about the size of a postage stamp). Press in lightly on this metal piece as you move it up or down just a bit, to unhook it. Then pull out the piston and spring assembly, insert staples in the hole and replace the piston. You must use T50 staples (of various lengths). T35 and others will not fit. Good luck, Al K

Need diagram to put back together

Morning Henry,

I've just had a look at the Stanley site. By the look of it, this tool is a disposable unit as they don't show any parts charts. Also, given that Amazon sell this for under $30.00, I'd bite the bullet and get a new one?

Put new staples in my Rapid 34 and some come out but in the beginning they dont. Why?

Hi Anonymous,

Have you bought the genuine RAPID branded staples for the 34 tool? If not that is the reason. There are a lot on manufacturers that use the same series numbers but they aren't the same wire size. 30 thousands of an inch can be enough to stop the staple working through the tool.

Having said that, if they are the genuine article, does the spring and pusher work correctly? (the thing that you put in the back of the tool to keep the staples in place)

Staple stuck in shredder

First lesson - NEVER put staples through shredder. Have you been able to remove the staple? Switch all power off, and then look at blade section. If still present - remove staple - may need magnet or tweezers. This should fix the problem, but if it doesn't it seems you may have some teeth out of alignment. This will probably require replacing the shredder bar by a technician, or a new unit.

Help please! I have a Paper Pro high capacity stapler that will not staple. I can open it up and put staples inside, but no staple will come out when pushed down. Oddly enough, if I put ONE staple inside...

are you using the correct size of staple?? (thickness wise) secondly check the spring is pushing as it should, also a fix to get it working is as you put the staple stack into the stapler, seperate them and see if will staple. other than that it's defective and you should purchase a new one.

The door at the back of the staple gun won't close

You have too many staples in the gun. Chances are it was not shooting staples so you put more in. (Only holds 1 strip as if new from box) Check for a jam. Sometimes this keeps more staples from advancing. Please rate

Insert new staples

Their website is down right now, so I can't see the internals of this stapler to give you any advice, but they do list a support phone number you can call, and they should be able to guide you through it.

Got it loaded now it won't shoot

I have a similar staple gun and I figured out I was loading it wrong. If you are loading it where the spring is, like I did, it won't work. there should be another area close to that spring opening that you put the new staples in.
