Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

1 Answer

DS Lite Turns off when moving top screen.

Help! My DS Lite turns off when I move the top screen too close to the touch screen. If the top screen is all the way back, it is not a problem. But even the tiniest twitch on the top screen turns the DS off. And if I turn on the Ds when it is close to the Touch Screen, it screen falshes, then turns off again. So I can't go to sleep mode at all with the Ds without it turning off.

I am also having this problem and it acts as if there is a short in the screens causing the system to shut down to avoid any significant damage.  The Nintendo tech support does not address this issue and there are no good links out there to sites that specifically deal with this problem.  I would hate to sacrifice what is an otherwise good system simply because I can't get this issue resolved.  I have had the system for 2 years, both screens are free of scratches and the system has been well cared for.  It's just frustrating that after all of the care I have given it that it would still fail me like this and ultimately cost me another $100 minimum to get back into the game!

ITS AN INTERMITTENT CONTACT with the ribbon belt that connects from the main unit to the upper screen , I believe you need to take the DS for an authorized repair shop, but before doing anything , give a call to a tech support at NINTENDO , THEY would gladly help you out and inform you whats the next step , hope this helps , AJ , in case you dont have the LINK, let me give it to you : http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/ ,
hope this helps AJ

NINTENDO DS LITE WON'T CHARGE OR POWER ON

Each time you charge your battery, the charge capacity is decreased. After a large amount of charges, the capacity is decreased to an amount only enough to turn on a/the screen(s) for a second. Try getting a new battery.

Nintendo DS Lite top screen is shivering

I think you have a defective screen or the adjustment 'screw' for the topscreen on the mainboard is defective.
My opinion is to send it for repair to Nintendo or a DS Lite repair service.

Onceturned on, the green light goes on, the touch screen flashes white, then it all turns off.

You might only have a loosen screen ribbon cable.

If not careful while taking out the top screen ribbon you can damage it causing blank screens and finally the DS wont work.

The solution to a broken top screen ribbon is to replace the whole screen in DS lite or buy the ribbon cable in the DS fat and replace.

If the broken top screen ribbon is caused by broken hinge then you should replace the shell also to avoid other broken screen.

My DS touch screen flashes once when the power switch is flipped, then turns off.

when the ds turn off right after being powered on, that generally would mean the that the ribbon cable that goes from the top to the bottom is either disconnected, or ripped. thats like a $15-$20 fix or so when u get the parts.
