Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

WHEN I CONNECT MY DATA CABLE OF THE DIGITAL CAMERA WITH MY COMPUTER , THE PC COULD NOT READ THE MEMORY CARD , WHAT SHOULD I DO ??

If you have a card reader, take the card out of the camera and use the card reader. (Be careful not to set the switch to the write protection side if you want to delete any pictures.)

Make sure that your OS has the drivers for the camera. (The correct driver is included with XP, Vista and Win7 above the Starter Edition.) You may want to try uninstalling the driver (with the camera not connected to the computer). Then connect the camera and let the driver reinstall. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DSCW180 has the details on the OS support.

If you still have a problem, get a card reader that supports Memory Stick or Memory Stick Pro . If the card still doesn't work, it may have failed or the camera didn't correctly format and write to the card.

I hope this helps.

How to connect a logitach camera to a computer?

Hi, Logitech Camera has a usb cable come together with it. Just connect to USB port in the back of your computer. Wait for a while, windows will ask for driver of this Logitech Camera, insert the driver disk(if you don't have the disk, google the serial of the camera with word "driver" or go to Logitech Website, then download correct driver for your operating system, XP or Win7). Just follow instruction of wizard to complete the installation.
Hope this will help. Thanks for reading.

hi kbailey. Turn on the camera and go to the menu. find the reset function. Reset the camera. This means you are returning it to all of the settings it was at when it was brand new out of the box. Joe

Two things to try

One
Connect DIRECTLY to the computer NOT via anything else and use the CORRECT lead not one that looks the same

Two

Remove the memory card and try to read that on a suitably eqiped computer.

windows doesn't always need software to read pics from a camera.
Just connect the camera, and have a look in 'My computer' you may find the camera's memory shows up as hard drive... worth a try.
Alternatively, remove the memory from the camera and either plug it straight into the laptop (and look in 'my computer') if you have the correct slot, or connect it via a cheap $2 memory reader (available from ebay).

How to down load pictures to computer

Most cameras have a cable that connects between the camera and a usb port on your computer. Read the instructions. If you can't find them, I'd turn the camera off before you make the connection. Then after 15 seconds or so if the camera doesn't turn on by itself, you can turn it on manually.

Your computer probably has some software that will volunteer to help you down load the camera at the point. If nothing hapens you have two choices. The official method is to use software that should be on a disc that came with the camera.

If you aren't able to use anything already on your computer AND you know how work with windows views of files in folders, bring up the window for "My Computer" or "Computer" from the Start Menu, and navigate to the correct drive, probably something with the letter "E:" or higher.

Can't give you more specifics, based on what I know about your situation.

My computer is not reading the camera connection

You need to start the "Canon Camera Access Library 8" service. To do this (on XP, other Windows OSes are similar) you need to:
1. Right-click on "My Computer" and select "Manage"
2. Click the + sign in front of "Services and Applications"
3. Click on "Services"
4. Right-click on "Canon Camera Access Library 8" and select "Start"
