Dell 4500S Desktop doesn't boot Windows

Have a Dell Dimension 4500 Desktop Computer. It boots up but will not load Windows. Instead, I get a message saying all processes have been stopped to protect my computer. I am wondering how I can get past this so I can load Windows and use my computer. Windows does try to put up drivers but the blue screen message still appears. It does not let me go to Safe Mode or directly into Windows Tried installing windows disk at boot-up on CD and just freezes when trying to start set-up on Windows. Ran Dell system diag disk and all hardware devices PASS. This thing would not even let me run the Recovery Console.
How do I get past this and be able to run the windows set:up to repair possible corruption that has occurred?

I have a similar problem - The Dell 4500 will boot into safe mode Windows XP but freezes when I try to boot normally. I have run the Dell Restore program and even wiped the hard drive and reloaded Windows on a clean install. Same issue. It DOES sound like a memory problem but then why will it let me boot into Safe Mode? I have removed all external cards and USB devices. No effect. Any ideas?

I have a similar problem and STILL cannot find a solution.
Dell 4500. Has worked PERFECTLY for since I got it. Just this week, it restarted and froze on the Windows XP splash screen.
It will boot into safe mode, but not normal Windows. I have recovered my data so I used the Dell System Restore program but that did not fix the problem. I wiped the hard drive then and did a fresh Windows install. Still nothing.
I removed all extra PCI devices and USB connections with no success. It DOES sound like a RAM issue but I have moved that around and removed components as well with no change. Anyone have any ideas? I don't know what else to do.

Dell Dimension 4300 desktop screen goes black after windows splash screen appears. Have reseated RAM.

After hitting the power button on your computer, throw it into "BOOT MODE" and select your hard drive. See if this helps your computer load. If so, you will have to go into your BIOS Setup and make your current hard drive your Primary Boot Device.

If this doesn't help, load your restore disc and check your drive for errors.

Your problem shouldn't be anything more than a few registry errors OR a boot problem.

Hi, I have a dell dimension 5100. I inserted a 1gb ram but it was the wrong one. I took it out and replaced it with the old ones. Now the computer doesn't boot properly - turns on but doesn't load...

Remove all the memories and insert them again, make sure you insert them in the proper way as the slot is keyed.
Memory issues can be identified by the beep sounds.
If you have more than one memory, remove one and insert only one of them and try to boot.
Hope this will help.

Dell dimension e310 desktop error message unmountable boot volu me

> unmountable

The disk-drive cannot be "mounted", i.e., the motherboard cannot access it

> boot volume

To "boot" a computer is to load a small "loader" program from the disk-drive;
that program "pulls-up-by-the-boot-straps", to read the rest of Windows from the disk-drive.

If the disk-drive has "failed", then you'll get messages like the one that you reported.

Replace the disk-drive.

How can I boot Windows XP from my USB Disk drive on my DELL Dimension 4500 computer ?

Hello,
When you have switched on your PC, strike F2 several times or DEL to enter to your Bios set up. As sson as you're in, set boot rpiority to USB Disk drive as your priority boot sector instead of Hard Disk drive.
If you don't have CDROM player/drive, you can use USB as priority boot but you may have another installer for reformatting via USB.
Blessings.

try going into your BIOS and changing the boot sequence, it may be set to boot from floppy instead of harddrive. or you could just reinstall windows, but that sucks cuz then you lose all your data and programs. and not to be rude, but you shouldnt have bought a dell, they are full of problems.
