Question about Dynex 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub

1 Answer

I plugged in a new Dynex 7 port USB hub (DX-B7Port) and Windows 7 reported that it could not find a driver for the device (I didn't think it needed one) I unplugged the hub and re-inserted it and now W7 is ignoring it. W7 seems to be totally confused by the Hub and is now ignoring it.

If you still have iussues, try plugging in the hub *unpowered* (it will stil work) and letting the drivers instal, then plugging in the external power. Worked for me.

Base from the description of your problem the issue now here is the Windows 7 system don't recognized the hub anymore, so what we can do here first is to unplug the hub and if your computer is a desktop connect the hub to the back USB port and then restart the computer after connecting it.

This device should be recognized automaticaly by the OS. There are some issues with Windows 7, though.
Make sure you are trying to plug it in a 2. USB port, rather than 1.1. This might cause you trouble (even though this will not be a problem if you have a new computer)
Connect the hub to the external powercord. Sometimes it is not recognized because the hub cannot drain enough energy from the port.
if you are using a desktop pc, make sure it is plugged in the rear usb ports and not at the ones up front.

Tip

USB devices not recognised or not working properly?

Try these steps to reinitialize your usb ports on your pc

1. Unplug ALL USB devices connected to the computer. If you are using a USB mouse and keyboard, temporarily use the older type PS/2 devices if you have them, if you don't then just leave them connected.

2. Hold down the windows key and press r

3. Type devmgmt.msc into the run menu and press ok

4. Click on the + sign next to the Universal Serial Bus Controllers

5. You might need another mouse to do this if you have a usb mouse.. I recommend you get a ps2 connector mouse which goes into the green round connector in the back of your pc.

6. Right click and uninstall first the usb root hubs. all of them then uninstall the rest of the devices you see under Universal serial bus controllers

7. Ones you have uninstalled everything you should see the Universal serial bus controllers there at all.

8. Now go ahead and restart your pc.

9. Ones you have restarted the pc your usb ports will reinstall in a moment stand by while it installs all of them. If you get warning messages click ok or continue installation.

10. Now go ahead and plug the usb devices back in. Install software if required, all usb devices if not faulty or broken should work now. Also note the error code if you get one?

This solution doesn't fix all usb problems so if you have a yellow ! mark there and device status reports a error code. Then it might not be a problem with your usb ports.

Belkin F4U017 7 port USB hub Connected to a Windows Vista 64bit computer Windows updates are automatic When plugged into the computer, Device manager reports the hub as a "Bluetooth Radios: Broadcom...

I just had the same problem and was able to figure our a permanent fix.Judging by the date of you post, I'm guessing you've already remedied this problem one way or another. But just in case you haven't or someone else is having the same problem, I'll go ahead and post what to do. First, make sure you leave the USB hub plugged in right now so that Device Manager lists what it thinks is the Bluetooth device. Go into Control Manager > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager. Right click on Bluetooth device that is showing up in error. From the dropdown box, select Properties. Click the Driver Tab. Click Uninstall. Check "Delete the driver software for this device." Click OK. Unplug your USB hub for a few seconds, then plug it back in. Windows should now recognize it as a "Generic USB hub." You should be good to go. Just remember not to install that update again or try to update the driver for the Generic USB hub. If you do, you'll end up with the same problem. I hope this helps someone out there.

Is there a way to run a Dynex DX-UC104 with vista.

Sounds like you need to make sure your chipset drivers are up to date and all service packs are installed.
Ther is no reason it will not work in vista as it works in windows 7 64bit.So visit your motherboard site to get bios updates and driver updates, then update all through windows update and try to reinstall.
Windows should install a driver for vista.

this is a link for non vista
