If the date and time appear during playback to a television from the camcorder, we discovered that the date and time stamp can be recorded during playback through a DVD Recorder.

How do I get time date stamp to show on video footage taken with JVC Everio GZ-HD620

The AVCHD file contains the time date stamp as subtitle track. Any player that can show subtitles can show the time/date stamp (I use Videolan Player).

Usually, after downloading the avchd files to my computer, i do an OCR on the sub file and convert it to .srt, as well as conver the avchd into .mkv and include teh subtitle file into it.

I have a Panasonic SDR-H60P hard disk video camera and I have lost the second half of the ac adapter. Every time I try to retrieve the videos from my camera it asks me to connect to the ac adapter. I can't...

Unfortunately, the camera won't let you transfer anything if it's not on AC power. You'll have to buy a replacement cable in order to transfer the video, unless you saved it on the SD card and not the internal hard drive. If you saved your video to the SD card, you can just remove the card and copy it to any computer that has a card reader.

Time/Date stamp doesn't show up...

this camcorder has a built in rechargeable battery for the memory of the date and time, if you do not use it for more than three months, it will discharge all the way; to recharge, you need to plug camera with ac power for 24 hours and the camera turned off. this should charge the internal battery complete.

I am an investigator and need to transfer the file with a date and time stamp using PC

Highlight the source file, right click, click copy. Open destination folder, right click in folder area, click paste. I do this in Windows 2000. XP and Vista should do the same.

How is the time/date stamp displayed on a copy

The time/date is 'stamped' onto the video during recording. The time/date stamp function can be turned on or off in the setup menu. If it was 'on' during recording, it will be displayed when played back. If it was turned off, it will not be seen on the recording.

Panasonic SDR-H40-Date/time missing when transfering video to PC

get a capture card, an AV cord ( red, yellow and white cord) and record it onto the computer. This will push the date and time stamp onto the video. There really isnt any other quick solution :-(, unless you sport 800$ for a highend camera, then all harddrive cameras have this problem.

DAte/Time stamp

I was having the same problem, and was tasked to find a solution at work.

I ended finding talking with a developer who wrote a custom utility that can extract the time/date data from the .MPG (it's hidden in there somewhere) as a special txt file.

Here's a link to that utility: (special version for NTSC footage):
http://dl.free.fr/pNo24JrdB (Special thanks to fnx91 on the videohelp forums)

Then you import that file into a piece of software called DVSubmaker which will convert that data in a special format (.sub) used by certain DVD/Video players to display subtitles.

Here's the best 2 options for playback:

1. Windows Media Player (need Mpeg2 codec) combined with a plugin called Vobsub - Free:)
2. ZoomPlayer (DVD Software) - $60

So in a nutshell, your displaying the original time/date stamp as subtitles on top of the video.

Contact me if you have any troubles.
