Question about HP Compaq Presario 1210, 1210CA, 1210EA, 1210ES, 1210JP, 1210LA, 1210US, 1211, 1211CA, 1211EA, 1211LA, ... (810247013585)
When you purchased the network-adapter, did it include a CD-ROM with device-drivers for Windows 98? Did you install those drivers?
Many "new" network-adapters include software that *ONLY* supports newer versions of Windows (XP/Vista/7) and no longer include support for Windows 98/98SE/NT/2000.
Look on eBay for another 3COM adapter, since that adapter worked for you.
