Sounds like you will need to clean the carburetor or replace your carburetor internal rubber parts like the diaphgram and O rings.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
Be careful when blowing out the passages, because there are sometimes small rubber type seats in the bottom of some of the passages.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor or using starting fluid and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
Keep in mind that the float for the carburetor must be level when you go to reassemble the carburetor or follow the instrucitons you get with the carburetor kit.
If the mower/weedeater is over a year old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, you will first need to seat the jet screws.
But before you seat the jet screws count the number of turns it takes to seat the jet screws from their original position.
Be sure to mark the turns down on a piece of paper.
That way when you put the jets back in, you know to seat them first and then turn them back out to their orginal position before you started.

1984 S10 wont run fuel coming out at pump but doesnt seem to supply carb. has new filer. when primed it runs for a few seconds.

Is this a carbed engine, that usually means mechanical fuel pump? Take fuel line loose from carb, aim into container, crank engine, does gas flow? If so, have to check float bowl in carb to see if any gas, if no gas, need a carb kit in my opinion.
I don't know liter size of engine? If fuel injected, let us know.

My 4514 Honda has a snow blower for the winter . It keeps stalling and the fuel pump never shuts off so I guess isn't pressurizing . I pulled the fuel line at the carb & it is pumping gas ....

sounds as if there is sticky gum in the carb that is keeping the float from seating unless it is hot enough to unstick. Take the carb bowl off and examine it for gum (real old gasoline will do that.

Fuel problem with John Deere 23hp engine

time to pull the hose off the fuel pump coming from the tank and drain the tank and check flow of gas coming from tank hose, and possibly inline fuel filter is plugged or there is junk in your tank/line from tank not letting enough fuel to run to pump so pump can pump it to carb !

My 09 te 250 starts well and runs well but if i stop at a gate etc it stalls ...idal speed is correct ..it is new done only 20 hours

Try removing and draining the tank. Sediment can build up restricting fuel flow, I install in-line fuel filters on my bikes, to keep impurities out of my carbs. I also use fuel additives, (carb cleaner, gas treatment) on a regular basis to keep them running smoothly

Hard start

remove the carb and take the fuel bowl off ; soak it in gas for a few days; clean it good with carb cleaner spray in every hole using the straw; reassemble; clean fuel tank; add fresh gas. If this dont do it , you may have to adjust the carb ,turning the screws 1/4 of a turn at the time til you get it running and then fine tune it

Craftsman lawn mower can not run without pumping the red button

Hello,

The fact you need to keep pushing the RED or "Primer" button says that your engine is running too lean ie. not getting enough gas.

You probably have a carburator problem due to the old gas gumming up the inside of the carb. The gum and dirt is clogging some of the internal passages of the carburator. It will need to removed from the engine and cleaned. The carburator is held to the engine by 2 bolts and is simple inside. Carefully clean the carb. with either carb. cleaner or laquer thinner or similar good solvant. Reinstall and you should be fine.

Also be sure to check your air filter and replace if dirty.
The red button is a "primer" that pumps extra gas into the engine. It is normally used only only for statrup so if need to use it while the engine's running, you're running too lean.
