Question about Moen 3175 Legend One Handle Shower Faucet With trol Pressure Balancing Valve....

1 Answer

We have a single knob shower control that you turn to get water and the more you turn it the hotter the water gets. Now when we turn it nothing happens. There is a small trickle of water coming out of the head no matter where we turn the knob. There is still resistance on the knob, it does not spin freely. ???

You will need to replace the cartridge inside the faucet body.

Did you try removing the showerhead? It is possible that debris clogging the head will restrict the flow.

The handle stops mid way between hot and cold. The water gets barely lukewarm.

Have you tried adjusting the temp control setting behind the handle. Remove handle and mark the dial or remember where it located and slide it out of place so you can move it counter clock wise maybe a 1/4" turn and put handle on and turn faucet on and check for hotter water.
It is a anti scald valve and it's preset to a certain temperture for safety.

& Single Handle Shower Faucet : how to adjust to get hotter water...

First step remove handle and behind it there is a dial that looks like a gear. Mark where it is and remove it and put back in about a 1/4 to 1/8 turn counter clockwise to increase to hotter temp.

These faucets are equiped with anti scald setting's to protect the public and preset for this reason.

We have a newly installed Delta single-handle shower faucet and cannot figure out HOW to get a warm water mix. No matter where we turn the handle, we get different temperatures of "cold."

That is a graduated water mixer valve, and it sometimes has a little white water restrictor blocking flow from your hot water port. See if that was left in by removing the handle with all water shut off to the valve and reattach then try again. This can also happen if you have a tankless water heater because pressure controls heat. Typically a Tankless water heater system will require little, to no cold water to your bathtub valve because of the heavy water flow at the tap. Remember, flow equals temperature. Less flow = more heat, more flow = less heat.

How can I adjust the shower knob to produce hotter water then it does now. It used to be hotter. Taking the knob off reveals a white piece of plastic with a colder to hotter temp. gauge. How can I adjust...

Should be able to adjust clockwise or counter clockwise to adjust the temp. You said that the temp used to be hotter. Check the temp setting on your water heater. Did you replace your old water heater? Hope this helps.

Water sprays out the diverter

Remove hot/cold button in handle, remove screw/pull off handle. Remove the two screws in the wall plate/remove plate. Use a wrench to remove the diverter assembly. Get new diverter assy and reinstall eveything. You don't need to turn off the water.
