No power, no error code

No power, no error code equals a dead dehumidifier. Far too costly to repair. I recommend putting those repair bucks towards a replacement dehumidifier. Frigidaire units are highly rated.

Dehumidifier is running but very little moisture is accumulating in the tank our carpet is soaked so it should be removing more moisture than it is.

In the is a wall to wall carpet, it's going to take a while. If you have a wet/dry shop vac, you can speed up the process by using the shop vac in wet mode. This will remove a great deal of water and then the dehumidifier will take care of the rest. Remember, it it's wall to wall carpet, the pad underneath is soaked too. So the dehumidifier alone, will really be struggling with it for at least 24 hours.

If it's and area rug, vacuum it to. Then drape it up off the floor over a couple of saw horses or wooden chairs, so the the dehumidifier will fit under one end like a tent. That will dry it out with in 4 or 5 hours.

Last solution, borrow another dehumidifier from a friend and run both at the same time.

Hope this helps you solve your soggy problem.

Air conditioners remove the moisture from the air, and so does a dehumidifier. Does running a dehumidifier make the air conditioner run less? Does running the small dehumidifier save energy in that the...

a dehumidifier is basically the same thing as an air conditioner but both coils (condenser and evaporator) are in the same unit meaning a dehumidifier exhaust warm air in the same room it is in. running a dehumidifier would make an air conditioner run more because of the warm exhaust, but you are correct, when you run an air conditioner it acts like a dehumidifier and dries the air. as far as saving energy it all depends on the size of the AC and dehumidifier and the size of the room. If you want warm dry air use a dehumidifier if you want cool dry air run the AC but not both.

Clean the filters and the coil. Use a mild bleach solution if there is mold present.

I was told that putting my de himidifier against to wall can cause damage to wall, if the unit touches to wall from the back of the unit. Can you please tell me the minimum distance the the dehumidifier...

If it vents or blows air out the top you can put it against a wall. If it blows air out the back it will heat the wall and also impede the airflow through it and make it work less efficient. I would check with the manufacturers owners manual or their website.

I wish to purchase DDR606 dehumidifier. Will need to place a pump into bucket to send water up basement wall and out thru window. Will this work with this model? Thanx!

This will work for all models. You just need to get a condensate pump. Hook drain from dehumidifier to the condensate pump. the dehumidifier will need to be higher than the pump so it can drain.

Dehumidifier

Most dehumidifiers these days have a built in defrost control, which turns the compressor off when the coils frost up while the fan continues to blow to help melt the frost off, so if it is frosting you may need a new defrost control, but first check the following: If your model has an air filter, clean it, as restriction of air flow will contribute to icing. Try to move the unit to a warmer location. Usually the best way to do this is to get it above the floor as far as possible, as the air temp is warmer closer to the ceiling than it is at the floor. Make sure there is plenty of room for air to circulate. (don't push it against a wall)
