Click the little icon in the tray on the bottom right of your screen, make sure its not muted and the volume is up.
If that didn't solve it check with headphones or different speakers.

Or right click My Computer, Select manage.
Click on device manager. If you see any Exclamation or Question marks try re-installing the sound drivers.

If it still doesn't work reply with more info.

Good luck, please rate.

I have purchased reimage" PC

Hi fred_enthove
If you have saved the download 2 months ago , you can delete the current application and reinstall the previous one . If not , you could go back to the download site and see if you still can reactivate the download .
You could also make a recovery operation to set back your computer to an earlier date when PC Repair was running smoothly .
Best regards ,

You can try booting a live linux CD or thumbdrive and see if that gives you sound. That will give you an idea if it's Windows or a hardware problem. If it's a windows problem try uninstalling and reinstalling your drivers. If that doesn't work keep searching around or just try a fresh install of windows.

You have two problems

Speakers:
Is it pluged in; is manual control in max position? Go to speaker Icon on your computer, right click icon ajust all controls to 90%. got sound. Restart computer.

The sound disappeared on my computer after a new hard drive was installed. However the sound returned when I altered the green sound cable to a different socket at the rear of the tower. Within two days it...

if you installed a new hard drive.. did you also installed windows on that new hd? if you did.. you may need to also install the sound card drivers.

the sound from your speakers depend on the sound card on your computer, and the sound card works only if you install the drivers that are specific for that sound card/computer. if you need help finding the drivers post back you computer specs (model, brand etc) and operating system and we'll help you find the drivers that may need to be reinstalled.

Speakers No longer recognized by my Computer! but pluged in right

Generally this is caused by a conflict of shared files. Try just rebooting your system, this will reactivate your sound card.

I unpluged my speakers from my tower and now they won't work after pluging them back in

Make sure the speakers have electric power connected and the power light is on for at least one speaker. Make sure the volume on the speaker control is at least half way up.

Make sure your volume in Windows is at least halfway up and not muted.

Unplug the speaker jack and re-plug it firmly into the hole you just removed it from. Test for sound.

If no sound, unplug and try another hole of the same size on the back of the computer and test for sound. Continue testing until you have tried every hole the jack will fit into. One of them will very likely work.
