What should the upper thread tension be set at on a Bernini 750

There is usually a mark on the tension dial that indicates the default setting--generally, it is at the midway point between high & low numbers. However, the correct tension is dependent on the fabric, thread, and needle you are using. Some stitches require a different tension setting, ie free motion quilting, as well as lighter weight vs heavier weight fabrics will require some adjustments.

How to Adjust Sewing Machine Tension on Craftsy

Ideally, for straight stitching on medium weight fabric, the midway point should be close. However, the tension is correct when the top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

Where can I find a replacement balance weight for the stylus arm on a Anders Nicholson 2655MMO turntable, cassette, CD player/recorder?

Balance weights can be removed and replaced easily. However when you say it snapped off, that could mean damage to the arm.
If everything is OK with the weight and you still have it, perhaps the weight could be "bodge" back into place. Perhaps with Blue Tack? If after all you can get the arm to balance correctly and apply the correct pressure to the stylus it doesn't really matter how the weight is attached does it? It might take a bit longer to set up correctly, but you might save some money if it needs a complete arm just to replace the weight!

Hello, so for some reason the needle is sliding down the vinyl towards the center every time we go to play it. it just slides across! makes no sense, the needle is not broken and we have been trying to...

needles never seem to look broken But a tiny chip on them will make the player do exactly what your describing, as far as the counter weights,, spin the player by hand , click the handle to make the arm begin to position itself at the beginning of the record, Now, before it drops, slow down the hand spinning, and set the weight so that when the arm is supposed to drop it doesn't,, in other words balance it to be level, No up or down motion, without a weight scale to do this by the book, try this , Its always worked for me, tape 2 pennies to the weight at the rear of the arm, and one penny to the head of the arm, again, adjust it to be level,, then remove all the pennies,, the arm will have about the correct weight they require for the needle to be correct,, if it still slides, you have a bad needle

Instead of showing my weight in pounds (168.00), the window is showing a different kind of number (75.). I don't know how that happened. What should I do to correct this.

Your scale is showing you your weight in kilograms what you need to do is change the settings so it shows you your weight in pounds or stones

Just call Bowflex. If you don't want to call here's the solution. There is a reset button on the bottom of the handle. Take the handle out, place on the floor side ways, depress the square button and turn to 5 lbs. Whatever weights that were on handle will fall out. Place the weights back into the holder. Make sure they are positioned correctly then put the handle back. Then test by dialing up different weight settings and lifting the ******** out of the holder. You should be back in business. If that doesn't work call Bowflex which you should do anyway.

The weight jumps around. If I get off the scale and on again, the weight changes by 5 pounds. I am sure neither weight is correct.

You're only suppose to weigh yourself once a week. Make sure you're doing it after you've gone to the bathroom in the morning and with no clothes on. Other than that, I'd make sure the floor you set the scale on is level and that you are holding very still while weighing.

Need to reset scale weight

You have probably set your scale to kilogram and not pounds. There should be a button to set this underneath the scale or even a reset button to reset the scale to its original settings.

Well on my technics MK2 1210's, the little anti sketch settings and all the others probably arent set to what they are supposed to be, because my needle arm keeps jumping :P could someone tell me what all...

There are two main things that will influence the anti skate settings.

1) The Headshell Weight and Balance
Firstly, check the data sheet for the cartridge and stylus you are using. It should tell you the correct weight setting which will vary from one cartridge and stylus to another. If the stylus is set too light, it can skate across the disc. This can damage the disc and the stylus. The sound will also be thin and it is likely to distort on high frequencies. If the weight is too heavy, it will not jump but will definitely damage the disc.

If you are a serious vinyl user, get yourself a tone arm balance. This is a device that you place on the turntable and you rest the stylus on a plate which is marked in micrograms. You place the stylus exactly at the correct weight marking and then make adjustments to the turntable settings until the tone arm is balanced. It's easier than it sounds!

If you don't have the data sheet for your cartridge and stylus and cannot find it online, use an old disc that you don't mind damaging, set the weight on the light side and gradually increase the weight until it stops skating.

2) Platter Levelling
Secondly, you need to make sure your turntable us on a level surface. If you are a purist, use a spirit level. to do this.

There are other things that can cause skating and jumping, especially if you use the turntable as a DJ. For example, vibration (caused hopefully by dozens rocking to your music). DJs will often increase the headshell weight very slightly to overcome this and I have sometimes placed the turntables on a thick rubber sheet such as carpet underlay to improve shock absorption.
