Question about HP Scanjet 5470c Flatbed Scanner
I have a HP 5470c scanner that has worked like a charm. I just had my computer checked and had to disconnect my scanner. When I tried to set up again I am getting no power at all. The software is installed, but I am receiving no power. I have tried to reach them to see about buying a new cord to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can obtain a new cord or another suggestion as to how to get this working again. It was fine before I disconnected. I have tried three different outlets and nothing happens.
First of all, use a lamp, fan or something to check your electrical outlets. Make sure they are not on a switched circuit, or a power strip that may be turned off. Try unplugging the cord from the scanner and re-inserting it. I don't know if there is a fuse inside the 5470, but I would bet on it. If all else fails and you feel competent to try it, see if you can disassemble the bottom and look for the fuse. Usually sudden problems like this are really something simple (or catastrophic!! :-) Good luck, John
