Fuel/Oil Mixture

  1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 8oz/2gal - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (Stihl 2.6oz/1gal)
  2. Any fuel containing ethanol is not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few months. Anything over 3 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH

SOURCE: trying to find parts breakdown

I am just going to jump in here... Most of the Chain saws Montgomery Wards had during that time were either Remingtom Bantam or McCulloch Mighty Mite chain saws. I know this is not a solution but most larger lawn mower / chain saw repair shops could most likely get you the correct part if you carried the unit into the Shop. What part is it that you need?

Can anyone tell me what size table saw a Montgomery Ward Powr Kraft, it looks like model tpf34867, would be? Maybe 8, 9, pr 10 inch.

Ask around your friends and associates for a used 10" blade and see if it will fit.
Back when those were made, most all were 10".
The saws using smaller blades of 8 or 9 are much more recently produced.
God bless your efforts

I have a montgomery ward electric chainsaw, model TMC-30039B. Can I find a manual and brushes for it?

Hi I'm Peter. There are several sites online to download the manuals some you will have to pay and some are free. The free ones though tag on malware when you download the manuals so be careful. It's worth it for me to pay for the manual. The brushes can be ordered online or go to a starter repair shop or electric motor repair shop. They should have the brushes you need and most likely not even need the manual.

I have a Montgomery ward powr kraft tmy 74001a chain saw that I cannot find any information on. cannot even locate a picture of one.

Department store saws are usually built by another company that make saws of their own brand. They build a saw to sell for a lower price the department store wants. Find a shop that services chain saws and take your saw there.

Need chain oil resevoir for Remington electric

I suspect you did an on line search, we can do no better. Remington has ceased production. Parts availability is limited to what is on hand. It might be advisable to save the money you would expend for parts and put it toward the purchase of a new electric saw.
Poulan has been in business a very long time and offers 8 different models. Some can be found at Lowes. HTH

Sooner or later you will encounter a part that isn't available for your Remington. Yours may be worth more as parts than as a complete assembly. eBay?

Remington chain saw oil problem

hi,

yes sounds as if you have gummed up the port for the oiler. you will need to clean the oil resevoir out using some kerosene or mineral spirits this will clean the port out and will not be harsh on the plastic. bar and chain oil is thick but has a sticky quality or viscosity that allows it to lubricate gas engines mor effectively and uses the heat from the engine to help thin it to a consistency to be of use to the bar and chain. on an electric chain saw there is not enough heat to allow this. a good oil resevoir cleaning and replace you oil with a light weight oil recommended this should do the trick. good luck hope this helped.

While Bar Chain oil will probably work, the owners manual (sitting in front of me) on page 9 says to "use SAE #30 motor oil". This is the owners manual for Models: M12510US, M15012US, M15014US, M15014AS, M30016US, M30016AS, M30016AW, M35016UW, M35016AW. Remington Electric Chain Saw
