Access the HITACHI web-site, and enter the serial-number of your disk-drive, to check the end-date of the warranty, and to open a RMA (Return of Materials Authorization) request, to authorize you to ship the disk-drive back to Hitachi.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I am attaching a link to a site that will explain how to get to a command prompt by using your boot disk. Once at the command prompt type: chkdsk /f /r and press enter. If it doesn't fix it the first time you can run it again.

I have an Acer 3002LCi laptop. I upgraded the RAM to the maximum 2GB. I also installed a WD Scorpio Blue PATA 250GB HDD. I installed Windows 7 from disk and computer shows drives C and D but drive C...

Install a partition manager program like
open it and you will see the entire hard disk. In there either create another partition in the unallocated space or add it to the D partition.

I have a 2001 Gateway Model 700C 1.9Ghz 512Mb RAM 80Gb Hard drive, and want to replace the old hard drive with new, faster, larger disk. Need to know what disk is compatible with this desktop.

If i am repeating myself, i am sorry, I have needed to re post a few times today, as it fails the first time.
You need an IDE drive, also known as a PATA drive
You DONT want a SATA drive.
I would go for a 250GB drive, as this is a good price point, about £30.
SO you need a 3.5" IDE drive, here is an example of what you need

Change the hard disk

If you do it yourself you invalidate the warranty, it is not too hard but fiddly, not a good idea unless you are a tech! try other world computing.

My 250 gb hard drive is only showing capacity of 127gb

Firstly install SP3 if that doesnt work you need to update your bios to get large disk support. If you dont want to perform any of these fixes you could simply split the drive into 2 or more partitions to access the full 250gb. Goto Control Panel/Computer Management/Disk Management you will see in there the missing gb's of your drive. Simply right click it format it and give it a drive letter.......Cheers from Scott

Sir i have intel 965ry mother board i want to connect 3 250gb sata hdd s but the system as slowly why

dear friend
Because it must recognise the three hard disk of 250GB, and memory is not frequent to working with large amount hard disk.
It is better to work with only one hard disk of 250GB. According to mother board requirement it supports up to 500Gb Hard disk but single hard disk of 500GB.

Drive Full After Backing-Up Just Under 4gb of Files

Are you trying to create one giant zip file or something similar? It sounds as if your Lacie 250gb hard drive has been formatted with a FAT32 filesystem and you are running into the maximum file size limit of 4gb minus 1 byte. Try just copying your files without using any compression utility or try reformatting your Lacie 250gb hard drive with the NTFS filesystem instead.
