Hotpoint TVM572 timer is faulty

It is important not to open the door of the dryer if it is still running. The timer controls the cooling cycle otherwise the clothes will get damaged if kept on hot.

It is very likely the timer contacts are frozen at some point and the timer will need some attention.

It is not hard to locate it. I cannot find the actual parts drawing for your model (it is good you have provided the full model details). But to help you locate the part I have found another Hotpoint model that may be similar to yours. Check this drawing to see if the front panel is similar.
Item 100 is the timer.

The actual timer for your model looks like this.

As the clothes are not getting burnt or singed I will assume the thermostat is ok and keeping the temperature within the range.

My kenmore 400 dryer timer doesnt move causing the electric switch go of every three minutes

Wow! Sounds like a couple different issues. First, make sure you have a free flow of air through your dryer duct work. The first place to check is where your dryer vent exits the home. With the dryer running, is there a good volume of air flowing through? No? Unplug dryer, ensure there are no kinks in the duct work, check for lint buildup in the duct work and on the back side (Inside of unit) of the lint trap. If you find no obstructions the blower motor may be bad or have a bad connection. The timer/selector switch could have a loose connection, gone bad or be dirty from lint buildup. If it's lint buildup around the switch you may be able to clean it with an old narrow 2" paint brush and some electrical contact cleaner. Make sure the appliance is unplugged when working inside the unit! Also, if you use electrical contact cleaner make sure you give it ample time to evaporate before testing dryer. If none of this helps, time to get on the phone. Good luck! :)

Moisture control

Dryers have 2 basic types: AUTODRY and Electronic. The electronic moisture control relies on 2 bars inside the dryer. As wet clothes rub these bars the wetness discharges the capacitor on the moisture control board. As long as the cap don't get a full charge the timer motor will not advance forward to the end of cycle. What goes wrong on these? Wax buildup on moisture bars form a barrier that keeps wetness off them bars. The control thinks them clothes is dry and shuts her down. On autodry the timer motor advances very slowly, The motor does not work while the heating element is on. Only when the heating element is off does the timer motor advance. As them clothes gets dryer the temp inside the dryer stays warmer and therefore the dryer thermostat keeps the heater off long and the timer motor advances. Like being on a highway with traffic jam you go a little bit then stop then go a little bit more then stop. Finally you get there. So what goes wrong? The control thermostat is not functioning properly causing the heater limit to do all the work . Instead the heater limit has to do the work and it ain't a real happy camper. Makes them clothes get too hot. They come out wrinkled.

Replaced timer with part #8299779 in Kenmore Dryer. The timer would run by the off and keep on running. The dryer got really hot to. The new timer did not cur the problem.

Unplug the dryer. Access the 'Start' switch and its terminals. Check the 'Start' switch with an ohmmeter. It is probably fused together internally. It should read zero ohms when not activated.

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

Whrilpool washer/dryer stack the dryer doesn't get hot

You will find that the drier wont get hot because the timer is not forwarding onto the heating part of the cycle. Possibly if you click one click at a time, you will possibly get to the heating part of the cycle but its not safe as it wont go any further. Install a new timer and you will be happier I'm sure.
