Question about Sanyo TRC-8080 Desktop Cassette Voice Recorder

3 Answers

We have 2 Sanyo Memo - Scriber Dictating/Transcribing Systems that will not rewind in order to dictate. We would really like to keep these machines operational because they use standard tapes which would keep us from replacing all of our other transcribing machines. Please advice where we could send them in order to be repaired.

The problem is that we DO NOT have a local repair shop so I need to know where to send or take these 2 TRC-8800 for repair. They do not rewind in order to dictate.

No luck with Sanyo Service or local repair. Now what?

Okay Guru it's me and you and I'm NO techi! I have the machine apart , belt in tack but lots of dust everywhere. What do I clean with and how do I check the pinch rollers. And I really hope the reel drive is in tack because I don't really know where that is! UGH!

Not to worry these machines can be easily repaired only if you can get hold of the size of belts used.
The possible problem described is a reel drive issue. It can be the belt or the reel drive rollers.
A good cleaning of the rollers, replacement of the belt, cleaning of the track movement of the tape, the pinch rollers.
You will have to do this as a periodical service to get these machines to work well.
You do not need to send them any where but any electronic tech can open the set , look up into the rear panel to see the motor drive and mechanism. check the belt , remove and set with the correct size. Now check the reeel drive , clean wellso that the friction drive works.
test with a cassette to rewind, correct again if neccessary.

Clean with a brush lightly or use a blower. If you have seen the belt remove and replace. The pinch roller in in the front as you open the cassette door. just clean a small roller near the capstan spinble.

Try the local electronic device repair shop ..cause this is not a complicated intervention ..it is either the motor belt that snapped out or broke ..(in this case will not play either ..) or it is just the button or the contact to it ..and it is resolved in a few minutes....

OK..I got it ..than I guess the best choice will be a Sanyo authorized service center ...
here is the locator from the support site ..It will help you locate the nearest location ..and after that get in touch with them by email or phone and see what you have to do to send them

How do you rewind while dictating with the Olympus DM 620?

To rewind, you simply push the rewind button. However, this does not rewind from the point you are at like a tape does, it goes to the beginning of the recording. Once you are in the play mode, pushing rewind will rewind from that point.

If you're at the beginning of the tape, just press "ERASE" and "FAST FORWARD" simultaneously.
Then flip the tape over, and repeat. :)

Rewinding to listen to recording

You should use the computer with Digital Voice Editor software to have more options when trabscribing. You could then use the transcribing keys to playback your recordings and regulate the velocity of the playback.
Download Digital Voice Editor Version 3.1.03 for Windows Vista/XP/2000.
64 bit version operating systems are not supported, though

Lost manual for dictaphone 2750

For transcribing, you'll need the machine (2750), the power supply, a foot control, and a headset (unless you use the machine's built-in speaker).

For dictating, you'll need the machine (2750), the power supply, and the microphone.

Absolutely. You can create a voice memo for about 15 minutes. Want more time, just leave the recorder going and it will create a new spot and just keep going.

I have a Sanyo Micro-scriber, model 8010A, in excellent condition, that I am giving away because it is no longer of use to me.  If you live in NYC, you can come get it.  OR, you can send me $40 for shipping and handling and I will send it to you.
