Question about ASUS (WL-167G) 802.11g/b (wl167g) Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

Can 't connect to the internet with my ASUS wl-167g I have an ASUS wl-167g wireless usb adapter on my Win7 Home Premium PC, with the latest ralink drivers. I can perfectly detect the wireless network my D-Link wireless router transmits, but when I try to connect, windows ask my network key and then... 'can't connect to...' I tried changing the settings of my router from 802.11n only to mixed n, g and b, but that didn't help either... I have tried and searched and googled, but I can't seem to fix this one. I hope you can. thank you

You need to enter the wireless key from your router once before the adapter will connect. The key is either on the label on the router or in the wireless section of the router.

Wireless asus adapter WL-167G can't connect to internet

For this its really not needed to uninstall the software log in to the router page and look for wireless settings and get the correct ssid and wep, and set the channel to manual and select  9 or 11 channel . if its in manual the connection will be constant always if not most of the router u will find wireless settings at the back of the router delete the wireless profile and right click on the wireless and view the available wireless network and get connected if u r using windows to configure the wireless  if ur using the asus utility scan the network and add ur network, delete the previous profiles and wireless key's are case sensitive

You might want to check out the post by ARIES HERE. He has some links there that might be helpful. They didn't work for TNYSTRAND but s/he may have had other issues.

The link to Ralink is broken on ARIES' post but you can find what s/he was referring to HERE.
