MY MOTHERBOARD JUST STARTED MAKING LONG CONTINUOUS BEEPS THAT DO NOT STOP AND HAS NO OUTPUT, I EVEN TRIED CHANGING THE MEMORY AND PROCESSOR

check if you new processor is compatible for you mother board..if it is compatible, try reinsert the RAm or replaced it with a new RAM...hope it helps you..

Try this motherboard troubleshooting beeping code first.
No beeping means short circuit,loose parts.
One beep means everything is working good.
Two beeps means CMOS error.
One long beeps,two short beeps means video problem
Three long beeps means keyboard error.
Continuous long beeps means memory not detected.
Continuous Hi-Lo beeps means processor overheat,loose blower fan heat sink.

If no beeps need to change capacitor parts of motherboard for burn, short and open leakage.

My motherboard stop working i remove the memories and switch on then is beeping i change the memory and stop beeping but doesn't work what i do? change the motherboard?


the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk,and remains active untill turned off.

make sure that your RAM is securely seated

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and to have and end to function
obvisously the beeps are windows searching for some hardware it could be RAM cd/dvd hard drive or motherboard all of these must have secure connections for the computer to work
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure make sure the connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

Five long beeps for a modern motherboards indicates a processor failure. If you wish to remove the processor and re-seat it (reconnect it to see if it begins to work again) make sure to get some thermal compound to put between the CPU chip and the heatsink. My computer cannot boot because of long beep


beep code usually means a basic function was unable to start. A basic function might be reading memory, displaying video, or being able to send information to a hard drive. The most common problems that cause beep codes are memory and heat-related failures caused by a build-up of dust in critical cooling areas. Use the beep code tables in this document to help find what hardware component is causing the problem. This might reduce the time required to find the hardware component that needs adjusted, reseated, or replaced. WARNING: HP recommends that these steps be performed only by someone with experience in working on computer hardware. Incorrectly handling sensitive internal components can further damage the computer and can introduce the risk of personal injury. Using the correct environment for working on computers (ESD precautions and tools), use the following steps to isolate and fix the problem:
  1. Turn on the computer.
  2. Listen to the beep code and write it down. Write down the number of beeps before each pause, if the beeps are long, short, high in tone, or low in tone. You can use the other sections in this document to look up the beep code description. The beep code and its description can be used for further Internet research if needed.
  3. Note which fans are spinning, not spinning, or making strange noises. It might be possible to prevent the beep code by setting the fan speed to a higher setting in the BIOS setup utility or by cleaning the cooling fins and vents.

    1. Turn off the computer by holding the power button for five seconds.
    2. Disconnect the power cord and then disconnect all external cords from the computer.

If you had to plug in or replace the fan, replace the side panel, plug in the power cord and turn on the computer. If the beeps continue, continue to the next step.
  6. Disconnect the power cord and remove the side panel and perform each of the following tasks, in order, until the beeping stops. Before starting each task, unplug the power cord and remove the side panel. After completing a task, replace the side panel, connect the power cord, turn on the computer, and listen for a beep code. NOTE: If removing or disconnecting a hardware component prevents the beep code, that component is probably causing the problem. However, a failed motherboard might produce beep codes associated with a component other than the motherboard.
    1. Clean cooling components that have become clogged with dust. If beeping continues, continue to the next step.
    2. Remove a memory module. If the computer stops beeping, the memory module might be bad, is the wrong type of memory for the motherboard, or was not fully seated or connected. Long beep and continues on power on when moved to


Make sure motherboard don't touch the cabinet.
Reattach the RAM memory.
Open processor fan and processor Then reattach both.
Reattach pci card or vga card if any installed.
Then check.

I tried to install a new motherboard but it didn't work


Your bios needed to be set with the correct memory speed on your old motherboard or it did not support the memory you added or it was in the wrong memory slot or size. The beeping was telling you it was a memory error. I need more info such as processor and memory speed and type to help. What is your old motherboard? It sound like Bios settings but I need to make sure the memory and processor will work with *********** board.

Abit nf8-v keeps beeping when turned on. no video


How is the beep sounds? Long beep and three short beep or one (-...) or all long beep?
For the first, usualy the VGA connector is not correctly seated, so the motherboard can say it has no output device and beeping.
The last is usually memory problem. Try, unplug your memory board and replug it again, make sure that it is correctly seated.
