How to use internet on psp

Fully charge your PSP. Using WiFi requires a lot of battery power.

Verify that you have access to a router or HotSpot. If your router is password protected, then be sure you know what the password is. Be aware that some public WiFi access point are incompatible with the PSP.

Update your PSP's firmware to the most current version. Newer versions of the firmware have better Internet features than older versions.

Turn on the WiFi switch on your PSP. On older PSP models this switch is located on the left side of the device. On newer models, it is located on the top of the device.

Select the Internet icon from the PSP's main menu.

TO START BROWSING

Look at the screen once the browser loads. By default it will load the Sony webpage. You can set your own homepage later.

Use the analog stick to control the mouse cursor. The "X" button is equivalent to clicking the mouse.

Use the circle button to reject a choice or to disconnect from the Internet.

Press the triangle button to bring up the address bar at the top of the screen and the options bar at the bottom of the screen. Selecting the address bar, or any place on a webpage that requires text entry will automatically bring up the virtual keyboard screen from which text may be entered.

Choose the icons along the options bar at the bottom of the screen to change settings, set a new homepage or access other browser features such as browsing history, bookmarks or help. Tool tips will help you identify the features you are looking for.

I have a sony psp how do I check what type it is?

usually there is a sticker below the select/start button. its like a barcode. and at the end of it should read something like this.....psp 1000 or psp 1001 (these are also known as the "FAT") psp 2000 or psp 2001(these are also known as the "SLIMS"), psp 3000 or psp 3001 etc.. (these are also known as the "NEW SLIM"), and of course you have the new psp which is the psp-go and they look totally different all together.

if you want to know what firmware version you have turn on your psp and go to SETTINGS>SYSTEM SETTINGS>SYSTEM INFORMATION.. and click "X" it should show you these information

system software -- the latest version of firmware u installed on your psp

nickname -- the name you gave your psp when you set it up

mac address -- mac address

Hi,

Sorry about this please follow the steps i have outlined... put on your psp and go to System Setting > Restore Default Setting and press the O button. You can now restore to the default settings and go back trying to use the keyboard on your psp.

This should work for you.

You can go online with the PSP system and browse the Internet. To start browsing the Internet
  1. Check your PSP system set up:
    • Infrastructure Mode
Make sure your PSP system is set up for Infrastructure mode.
See Setting up Infrastructure mode for details.

    • Internet Connection
Make sure you have an internet connection and your PSP is within range of the wireless access point (or hotspot).
PSP®online connectivity requires internet service and network devices, suchas a DSL or cable modem and a wireless router - for example, a Wi-Fihotspot at a café or a wireless local area network (WLAN) in your home.

    • System Software
Make sure you've got the latest System Software.
Requires PSP system software version of 2.0 or higher. Visit PSP System Software Update to download and install the most recent version.

    • WLAN switch
Make sure the WLAN switch on the left side of the PSP system is turned on so that the PSP system can connect to the internet.

  2. In the XMB™ home menu select icn_network.gif (Network) > icn_www.gif (Internet Browser) and press the icn_btnx_color.gif button.

  3. Use the up and down buttons to select the address bar and then press the icn_btnx_color.gif button to display the on-screen keyboard.

  4. Enter the address for the web page you want to display, select Enter and then press the icn_btnx_color.gif button.
For more information, see Using the On-screen Keyboard.

  5. Select a connection and press the icn_btnx_color.gif button.

  6. The web page is displayed.

  7. To hide the on-screen menu, press the icn_btntriangle_color.gif button.

To close the Internet connection:
  1. With a web page on the screen, press the icn_btncircle_color.gif button.

  2. Select Yes and press the icn_btnx_color.gif button.

  3. The internet browser will close.

If you have issues connecting to the Internet, you may wish to troubleshoot your Infrastructure mode connection.

I don't know how to get internet to my psp

nikiterc

first make sure the WLAN button is pushed to the right.
(i believe the button is located on the top of the PSP.)
it looks like this: . . . . .
WLAN >

to get inernet on your psp go to the network icon all the way on the right of the screen. than click on the internet browser icon. if it tells you to enter a 4-digit password, than type in 0000 or whatever you set it to.

click on [New Connection]

click on Scan

than select your wireless internet connection.

if you/your family set a password onto your wireless internet, than you'll have to type that in.

I hope i answered your question. If not, let me know.

    • A home wireless network, which might include:
      • A subscription to an Internet Service Provider (ISP)
      • A DSL or cable modem
      • A wireless broadband router
  • Settings used for the SSID, WEP/WPA-PSK encryption and WEP/WPA-PSK key, as specified when the wireless access point was configured.
To set up Infrastructure Mode on your PSP®:

My psp wont let me on my internet

You must have a Non-secured Wifi signal or know the Security Key info to sign on. Also, I found that my PSP runs better with my routers Security set to WEP 64bit than it does WEP 128bit. You may kow this.  I do respect you. If I write something that you already know, please realize i am not trying to offend you in any way.

If your looking for a detailed procedure , you can go to www.playstation.com and click on PSP, then once the screen finishes developing, click on the support button.  you can then go to connecting to the internet.  Its a really professional write up on the procedure.  Good luck.  Click on solved please

jaydaddy.

in order to get rid of the password, you must first go to the "Settings" icon all the way on the left.

than scroll through that menu until you find the "System Settings" button.

Than scroll through that menu until you find the "Restore Default Settings" button. If you click on that, your password will disappear and you can type in a new one.

After you reset the PSP, you will have to type in the date, timezone, time, and PSP name all over again.

If there is still a password on the PSP after you reset it, it should be 0000. Be sure to change it to something you remember =]

Well good luck. I hope i helped. If not, let me know.
