Return the machine, you can't be operating equipment you don't secure or track.
AOL questions should go to AOL and you know it. Perhaps if you know where you got the router (e.g. your telco) you would enquire after the default passwords for things they hand out, or ask your telco's broadband provisioning help section.
Just for fun, I'll tell you my hideously designed ZOOM DSL modem has a default username of "administrator" and default password of "zoomadsl". You should look up the password for the modem you have, if you are using your own router. Similarly, you might blow off anything AOL asks by clicking -cancel- whenever it bothers you (and it might work! What's AOL's business knowing that stuff, anyhow?)
